Meet Ghost 👻🐾

This handsome boy came to our ER after getting into a scuffle with another pup and starting to limp at home. Dog fights can be scary, and sometimes injuries aren’t obvious right away. In Ghost’s case, an infection had developed, causing discomfort and that noticeable limp.

Our team performed a thorough exam and took radiographs to make sure there were no fractures or other major concerns. Thankfully, his X-rays looked good! 🙌 After a course of medications to treat the infection and support his healing process.

After his X-rays, he showed off that sparkling smile with our sweet technician Sydney — and we couldn’t resist snapping a photo! 😁✨

We’re so proud of this brave boy and grateful his family brought him in when they noticed something wasn’t right. If your pet is limping after a fight or injury, don’t wait — even small wounds can lead to infection.

Way to go, Ghost! 💙🐶

As we wrap up the last day of February, all of us here at NWGVEC want to send our love to every patient and family who has trusted us with their care this month. 💕🐾

From our dedicated doctors to our compassionate technicians, every single member of our team pours their heart into what they do. Emergency and specialty medicine is about skill, speed, and knowledge — but it’s also about comfort, reassurance, and connection.

Around here, love is our number one treatment plan. It’s in the gentle pets during exams, the extra blankets for cozy recovery naps, the reassuring words to worried pet parents, and the happy dances when our patients start feeling better.

Thank you for allowing us to care for your furry family members. We’re honored to be here for you — this month and every month. 💙

Rocky stopped by NWGVEC for his third and final Panoquell injection — and we have the best update! 🎉🐾

His owner shared that he’s been doing SO much better, which is exactly what we love to hear. Panoquell is given as a series of consecutive injections over 3 days to help treat pancreatitis, and Rocky handled his treatment like an absolute champ.

Not only was he a total stud for his appointments, but he also made sure to soak up plenty of love from all of our techs. 💙 He quickly became a staff favorite with his sweet personality and brave attitude.

We’re so proud of you, Rocky! Keep feeling better, handsome boy!

Sweet Honey has really grown up on us at NWGVEC! 🍯🐾

Honey came in to see us recently for some vomiting, and our team jumped right in to make sure she was feeling better as quickly as possible. After her treatment, she was resting comfortably — and that’s when something extra special happened.

One of our sweet technicians, Maggie, gave Honey some love… and Honey remembered her! 💛 Maggie was Honey’s tech when she was just a tiny baby, and seeing them reconnect absolutely melted our hearts. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do.

We’re so proud to watch our patients grow up and honored to be part of their journey — from their puppy days to their brave ER visits and beyond. Honey, we’re so glad you’re feeling better!

Baby Lucy came in to NWGVEC not feeling her best, showing signs of a UTI. After getting the care and treatment she needed, she quickly reminded us why we do what we do 🥹💗
Safe to say… once she was feeling better, everyone on the team had to get in on the Lucy love. Tiny patient, BIG fan club.

Feel better soon, sweet Lucy 💕🐶

🐶💙 Sweet puppies have a way of bringing everyone closer—and the smiles always follow! 💙🐶

Riley came into NWGVEC after having some vomiting and concern over her spay incision. After running diagnostics and making sure everything looked okay, part of her treatment included subcutaneous fluids to help her feel better.

But let’s be honest… the real medicine was Riley herself 🥰
Her sweet puppy love had everyone stopping by for cuddles, head scratches, and a little dose of happiness. It’s amazing how one wagging tail can lift an entire ER team’s spirits.

We’re so glad Riley could spread some joy while getting the care she needed—proof that puppies truly make even tough days brighter ✨

🐾💙 Meet Kosmo! 💙🐾

Kosmo came into our ER for urinary concerns, and after speaking with the doctor, the plan is for him to follow up with his primary care veterinarian in the morning.

Even though his visit with us was a short one, Kosmo made a big impression. His sweet face and sparkling eyes completely melted Jocie’s heart ✨🐶—she just had to give him some extra love before he walked out the door.

Moments like these remind us that even quick visits can be filled with compassion, connection, and love 💕

🐾 Millie Mae’s Story 🐾

Millie Mae came into our ER with her worried mom after noticing her belly looked bloated. What started as a concern for tummy trouble quickly turned into something much more serious.

Her X-rays showed a possible foreign body risk, meaning Millie Mae may have eaten something she shouldn’t have. As any pet parent knows, that alone can be scary. After further diagnostics, we were able to rule that out—but the next discovery was even more concerning.

Millie Mae’s bloodwork revealed that her blood was not clotting properly, putting her at risk for severe internal bleeding. Because she’s an outdoor girl, there was a strong concern for rat bait exposure, which can be life-threatening. She came to us with a poor prognosis, and our team moved quickly to begin aggressive treatment and monitoring.

After lots of diagnostics, treatments, and nursing care, something amazing happened, Millie Mae started to perk up. When it was time to go home, she walked out wagging her tail when she spotted her mom waiting for her

A special shoutout goes to our tech Maggie, who gave Millie Mae extra healing love—sitting with her in her kennel for most of the morning, offering comfort, and reassurance, when she needed it most. Stories like Millie Mae’s remind us that medicine matters—but love does too. We’re so proud of this sweet girl and honored to be part of her journey 💙✨
