✨ Highlands Spotlight of the Week ✨

This week, we are proud to shine the spotlight on our incredible new Dietary Manager, Ms. Yvonnia Anderson! For the past two years, she has been a valued part of our kitchen team, and we are so excited to see her step into this well-deserved role.

From a delicious breakfast to a savory lunch, Ms. Yvonnia truly outdid herself today!! Bringing not only amazing flavor to every dish, but also heart, care, and dedication to everything she prepares.

Her passion for our residents shines through in every meal, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our Highlands family. 🫶🏻

We had such a wonderful time getting creative with our residents today! 🎨✨

A big thank you to Casey from Spirit Hospice of Georgia for joining us and leading a fun sun catcher painting activity. The room was filled with laughter, color, and so many beautiful creations, each one as unique as the hands that made them.

We are so grateful for partners like Casey who bring joy, creativity, and meaningful moments to our community. Our residents truly enjoyed every minute! 🌞

We are so excited to share that we have officially reached 100% occupancy!

What makes this milestone even more special is that many of the individuals who first joined us on a temporary basis have now chosen to call Highlands home. Our hearts are truly full as we’ve welcomed so many wonderful new friends into our community.

It has been such a joy getting to know everyone, and we are proud to now call them part of our Highlands family!!

This Easter, we celebrate the true meaning of the season, the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope, renewal, and everlasting love that comes with it. Today is a beautiful reminder that even in the darkest moments, light and new life will always prevail.

He was buried and he was raised from the dead on the third day just as the scriptures said.

We hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful day filled with joy, love, and time with family and friends. We had such a wonderful time celebrating together at our community Easter egg hunt this past Friday!! It was full of smiles, laughter, and so many sweet moments!

We would also like to give a very special thank you to Jaimie with Inspire Hospice and Palliative Care for her continued support and for always going above and beyond for our community. And a big shoutout to Celina with Tapestry Hospice for hopping in as our Easter Bunny, you helped make the day extra magical for everyone!!

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we took a moment to sit down with some of the incredible women of Highlands and ask them to share their advice for the younger generation.

Their words are filled with wisdom, strength, resilience, and love. Lessons learned through years of experience, challenges, and triumphs. From encouraging confidence and independence to reminding us to cherish relationships and never stop growing, their voices are a beautiful reminder of the power of women supporting women.

We are so honored to celebrate these amazing women, not just this month, but every single day. Their stories continue to inspire us, guide us, and shape the future for generations to come.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support our community has shown this past week. 💚

From the moment we shared our need, so many of you stepped up, dropping off donations, reaching out with kind words, and simply showing up for these seniors in such a meaningful way. It has been truly heartwarming to witness our community come together like this.

Because of YOU, our residents are feeling supported, cared for, and surrounded by love during a time of uncertainty. That means more than we can ever fully express.

Thank you to everyone who shared our post last week and helped us spread the word. Your support made a bigger impact than you know.

And a very special thank you to our hospice partners, PruittHealth, Willowbrook Hospice, Amedisys, and Trinity Hospice, for going above and beyond to ensure these seniors have everything they need.

We are so thankful to be part of a community that shows up with such compassion and generosity.

‼️Rome Community Support Needed‼️

As we mentioned earlier this week, we have opened our doors and hearts to 14 seniors displaced by the Winthrop Senior Living fire.

Our team has been working tirelessly to ensure each of them feels safe, welcomed, and comfortable during this incredibly difficult time. Yesterday, we were able to retrieve some of their personal belongings, but unfortunately, not everything could be recovered.

We are reaching out to our community for support. While we’ve been able to gather some travel-sized toiletries, we are still in need of additional essentials. We are also accepting clothing donations of all sizes, with a particular need for 2X (female), as this is something we currently have very limited availability of. Also shower curtains is a need.

Please know, there is absolutely no need to purchase anything expensive. Items from places like Dollar Tree are more than appreciated and incredibly helpful. Every single donation makes a difference.

Any donation—big or small—will make a meaningful difference in helping these residents rebuild a sense of normalcy and comfort. Thank you for always showing up for those in need.

We are truly honored to open our doors and hearts to 14 seniors displaced by the recent fire at Winthrop Senior Living. In a time of uncertainty and loss, it means so much to us to be able to provide a safe, comfortable place where they can feel supported, cared for, and at home!!

Our team has come together with compassion and dedication to ensure each resident is welcomed with dignity, warmth, and the individualized care they deserve. This is more than what we do. It’s who we are!!

Please join us in keeping these residents, their families, and the entire Winthrop community in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult time. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and stand beside them.
