Hi, I'm Kristi along with my husband Nick, and we are the owners and operators of this small veteran owned business in Romeo, Michigan. Air Force after devoting 20 years of service to this great country. I loved being part of the military, along with my husband who also served for 6 years, but I knew that eventually it would come to an end and I would have to find my next path in life. I have alwa

ys had a passion for health, fitness and nutrition, and consider myself a lifetime student when it comes to all things health and fitness related. I studied Health and Sports Sciences and earned a Bachelor's degree specializing in exercise science. Tea has been a daily ritual for me for quite sometime so making my own blends based on things I have learned just kind of fell right into place as a next step for me. I hope you love all the blends I have created as much as I do! Sourdough has become my recent passion and I am so excited to share it with you. It is becoming increasingly hard to find good quality food at the grocery store which led me to making my own :)

I ran through my supply of cartons and they are not cheap to repurchase 😣. These were a great buy and I love how you can see all the pretty colors πŸ©΅πŸ’šπŸ€πŸ€Ž.

Feed costs are increasing... should I add local organic corn to their diet to keep egg prices the same or keep the same corn/soy free diet and raise the price of a carton to $8.

So...we did a thing today 🀩...we bought a tractor! 🚜 It's nothing huge but from all the research my husband did this thing is a beast and will sure help around the property. Can't wait for all the projects this spring and summer 🌞. Roost and Root Farm is definitely official now! Follow along if you want to see all the fun things we're up to this year. Here's a few on the list...

- Get new bees next month to replace the ones that didn't make it through the winter 😒
- Add on an additional chicken coop for more girls and eggs πŸ™Œ
- Expand the garden with more veggies, small tree nursery and flowers.
- Possible polebarn build this fall 🀞.

That's a good start πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…. We'll see how far we get. Never enough time in the summer...

If your sourdough is sticky, hard to shape, or just not turning out rightβ€”there may be a few reasons why πŸ‘‡

It’s usually not just your technique or recipe.

Over the years, I've learned it comes down to a few key things:

Flour strength
Starter health
Fermentation timing
Dough temperature
Once you dial these in, everything gets easierβ€”your dough becomes stronger, less sticky, and way more predictable.
