This weeks Leading with Heart recipient is Patty Mullens, a long-standing employee at Hampshire Center, has held various roles including CNA and Restorative Aide. She currently serves as our scheduler and payroll coordinator.

Patty consistently goes above and beyond to ensure adequate staffing for our residents' excellent care. She has driven up to 50 miles one way to transport staff without vehicles and provides rides during inclement weather. Additionally, she often buys food and drinks for our team, and frequently works evenings and weekends to manage staffing needs.

Remarkably humble, Patty performs these acts of kindness without seeking recognition. She is a highly valued employee who consistently goes the extra mile for our nursing staff, demonstrating a truly compassionate heart. Staff often confide in her with their issues and concerns, and she always takes the time to listen. She is available at any hour to speak with staff and help resolve staffing challenges. Patty also ensures staff complete their scheduled inservices and Healthstream training by coordinating with the scheduling department. Congratulations Patty!!

Hampshire Center held a First Responders grab and go breakfast this morning. Thanks for all of those that helped with the breakfast and to all those that showed up to eat. A huge thanks to all of our Hampshire county first responders.

This morning, Hampshire Center was honored to host a special "First Responders Grab and Go Breakfast." The event was a small token of our immense gratitude for the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our local heroes.

We extend our deepest appreciation to everyone who contributed to making this breakfast a success, from those who helped with the preparations and organization to those who greeted our first responders with warm smiles. Your support was invaluable.

And, of course, a truly heartfelt thank you to all the first responders from Hampshire County who took the time to join us. Your presence brightened our day, and we hope the breakfast provided a moment of well-deserved refreshment and recognition. We are incredibly fortunate to have such brave and selfless individuals safeguarding our community every single day.

A Labor Day display has been set up in our entrance area by one of our Veterans, who is very proud of it. Check out our awesome Labor Day display in the entrance area! One of our amazing Veterans put it all together, and you can really see how much pride he took in creating it. It's a fantastic way to honor Labor Day and celebrate all the hard work people do across our country. Be sure to stop by and admire this wonderful setup and give a shout-out to Mr. Shiley, for his incredible effort!

The Hampshire Center will hold a Silent Auction in October. All donations will be accepted, now through October 6th. All the proceeds will go to the Alzheimer's Association. If anyone is interested in donating items for the auction, please call Nichole at the center or feel free to drop them off at the center's front office.

This weeks Leading with Heart recipient is Sierra Berg. A fellow employee nominated her and here is what they had to say, "I am writing to enthusiastically nominate Sierra Berg for the prestigious Leading with the Heart Award. Sierra consistently embodies the compassionate and dedicated spirit that this award recognizes, and her recent interactions exemplify her outstanding commitment to resident care and well-being.
During a recent observation, Sierra was seen engaging in a truly heartwarming exchange with a resident during feeding time. She approached the resident with a bright smile and used a calm, reassuring voice throughout their conversation. What truly stood out was not just her attentive care in ensuring the resident received their meal, but the genuine human connection she fostered. This meaningful interaction, characterized by Sierra's warmth and a palpable sense of empathy, visibly brightened the resident's day and left a profound positive impression on fellow staff members who witnessed it. For someone so new to the role of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), her natural ability to connect on such a personal level is truly remarkable.
Beyond this specific instance, Sierra consistently performs her duties with an infectious cheerfulness and a perpetually bright smile. Her positive attitude is a constant source of upliftment for both residents and her colleagues.
