The world’s largest one-day celebration of classic cars returns to Metro Detroit this weekend as the Woodward Dream Cruise marks its 30th year.

The free event takes place Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., stretching along a 16-mile route on historic Woodward Avenue through nine Oakland County communities — including Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge, Huntington Woods, Berkley, Royal Oak, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, and Pontiac.

Tens of thousands of car enthusiasts are expected to line the streets to see vintage rides, muscle cars, and rare models cruise the avenue. What began in 1995 as a fundraiser for a local soccer field in Ferndale has grown into what organizers call the largest one-day automotive nostalgia event in the world.

Michael Orrbach, a Troy resident who owns a 1975 Corvette Stingray, will be making his 10th appearance at the event. “I’ve been coming out ever since I found out about it,” Orrbach said. “You meet so many different types of car folks out here and every year I am meeting new people and making new friends.”

Parking
Municipal parking will be available near the route in several cities:
    •    Birmingham – Downtown parking decks within walking distance of activities
    •    Ferndale – Lots near Woodward Avenue and Nine Mile Road
    •    Pontiac – Downtown parking structures and lots
    •    Royal Oak – Municipal lots within walking distance of Woodward
