Let’s talk cluster feedings or feedings that are close together.
Babies tend to be fussier during these times. Cluster feeding are totally 100% normal. Something to keep in mind when dealing with cluster feedings, are as follows
* You are doing nothing wrong, keep feeding your baby on demand
* Very common with newborn babies
* Happens mostly in the evenings
*With growth spurts (2 week, 2 month, 4 month, 6 months, ect)
*Supplementing with formula may decrease your milk supply
*Offer the breast to baby often
Of course you can call the OB department at UBMC (435-722-6150) and talk to one of our 4 Certified Lactation Counselors. Happy Breastfeeding!
