Join us for a Zoom presentation by Dr. Maria Kleinstaeuber on the intriguing topic of "Pain Management is a Team Sport – Modern Concepts of Interdisciplinary Pain Treatment."

Date: Tuesday, April 23, 2024
Time: 12:00 to 1:00 pm

Dr. Kleinstaeuber will introduce the audience to a biopsychosocial model of chronic pain and how this model can be translated into a multimodal, interdisciplinary approach to treating pain. The concept of chronic pain as a multidimensional and biopsychosocial phenomenon has existed for more than four decades. Despite that long history, many clinicians, researchers, and patients with chronic pain have continued to hold essentially biomedical perspectives towards chronic pain. Research, however, has demonstrated that successful pain management needs more than just one approach – it needs a team of providers from various disciplines. Dr. Kleinstaeuber will present research evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of interdisciplinary pain management. Moreover, she will introduce the audience to a model of an interdisciplinary collaborative network between pain providers in a rural area, including a group management program for pain patients currently implemented by the Somatic Symptom Disorder Clinic at USU in Logan.

Join us this evening at the Uintah Conference Center for this informative and educational event.

Join us tonight at the Uintah Conference Center from 6-8 pm.

Please attend tonight's event and help educate the public about the dangers of fentanyl poisoning from fake pills and other illicit drugs. Awareness and education are key to preventing tragedies.

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid similar to morphine but is 50 to 100 times more potent, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Its dangers are unparalleled. Just two milligrams—the size of the tip of a pencil—is considered a potentially lethal dose of fentanyl.

“Fentanyl is the single deadliest drug threat our nation has ever encountered. Fentanyl is everywhere. From large metropolitan areas to rural America, no community is safe from this poison. We must take every opportunity to spread the word to prevent fentanyl-related overdose death and poisonings from claiming scores of American lives every day.” - DEA Administrator Anne Milgram
