Did you know that Dr. Ogden served in the military? After graduating from dental school in Virginia, he completed a dental residency with the Army at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs. After the residency the family moved to Ft. Irwin, California where Dr. Ogden supported the troops as an Army dentist.

Dr. Ogden and his family have a rich military history, with fathers and brothers who have served in all the branches of the military. On this Veteran’s Day, we salute and honor all military veterans. Thank you for all the various ways you nobly serve, or have served, our country. πŸ«‘πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

It’s National Dental Hygiene Month!

How young is too young to start seeing the dentist? Well, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that children have their first dental exam by their first birthday or within six months of getting their first tooth. This early visit is important because it ensures that your child's teeth are developing properly and that there are no signs of tooth decay or gum issues.
After the initial visit, children should have regular dental checkups, ideally every six months. Regular dental care can help prevent cavities and other oral health issues.

Call for an appointment with one of our fantastic hygienists for your child, or for you!

Why is it important to have regular dental hygiene appointments? Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. It is a major cause of tooth loss in adults. Because gum disease is usually painless, you may not know you have it. Also referred to as periodontal disease, gum disease is caused by plaque, the sticky film of bacteria that is constantly forming on our teeth.

During your hygiene appointment our hygienist will evaluate your teeth and gums. As she cleans your teeth, she will remove any plaque to help prevent gum disease.

You don’t have to lose your teeth to gum disease. Brush your teeth twice a day, clean between your teeth daily, eat a balanced diet, and schedule regular dental visits for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
