Across 2026 so far, I've had the honor of certifying five new Reiki Level I practitioners and two new Reiki Level II practitioners — all therapists who are choosing to expand what healing can look like in their work and in their own lives.

There is something quietly radical about a clinician deciding that the tools we were handed in graduate school aren't the only ones worth carrying. Reiki isn't a replacement for the deep relational work we do, but it certainly is an invitation into a different kind of presence. One that grounds us when the work gets heavy, and opens doors for clients who haven't found their way through the ones we usually offer.

To my students: thank you so very much for your trust, your curiosity, and your willingness to sit with something that doesn't always fit neatly into a traditional clinical framework. That courage is exactly what our clients and our professional field needs more of.

And if you're a therapist curious about what Reiki certification could add to your practice, or within your own personal life, I'd love to talk. Please feel free to reach out to learn more about how this modality can weave into the work you're already doing. Integrative practice doesn't have to mean starting over. Sometimes it means adding one more thread — one that helps your clients feel more held, and that helps you feel more resourced in the room with them.

All levels of Reiki certification are available on a rolling basis. One-on-one workshops can be scheduled via Zoom or in person, whichever feels most accessible to you. And for those who own or lead a group practice — if you have a team of therapists ready to explore decolonizing, less rigid approaches to healing, I'm always open to facilitating group certification workshops as well. Reach out and let's talk about what that could look like.

Little Rock!

Come grow, learn and build community with the Lazy Lizard Cooperative.
Join us the 1st and 3rd SUNDAYS and every WEDNESDAY from 9:00 am -12:00 noon for a morning of Gardening with your Community at the Lazy Lizard Co-op. We'll be working on a variety of projects, including but not limited to amending and building living soil, spreading mulch, planting, moving materials, building structures and harvesting food. No experience? No problem! There's a job for everyone, and we're here to learn and grow alongside one another.
Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty or wet, but most importantly, bring your enthusiasm!
We'll have a hang out session and a community potluck together immediately following the event, so bring a dish to share🥣
If you desire to cool off in our pool after, please bring your swimsuit, towel and a lifejacket if you need.

Bring a friend, bring the kids, most importantly bring your enthusiasm and creativity!
We can't tackle the tough problems without working and supporting each other💪 If you would like to volunteer your time but are unable to make it on designated work days, please reach out to find out how you can help. 𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 & 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 | April 1, 2026

Yesterday, the Supreme Court of the United States issued a ruling in Chiles v. Salazar that effectively dismantles the legal protections against conversion therapy that more than 20 states had put in place to protect LGBTQIA+ youth.⁣
⁣
Conversion therapy is not therapy. It is not evidence-based. It is not ethical. Every major professional organization in mental health and medicine — the American Counseling Association, the American Psychological Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Medical Association, and more — has unequivocally condemned these practices. ⁣The United Nations has classified conversion therapy as a form of torture. None of that has changed because of yesterday’s ruling, and none of it ever will.⁣
⁣
What makes this ruling particularly devastating is what it was built on. The therapist at the center of this case had not been prevented from doing anything — she was challenging a law based on what 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 happen. This sweeping, 8-1 decision, with implications for the entire country, was built on a hypothetical. And LGBTQIA+ young people across this country will bear the very real consequences.⁣
⁣
As a Licensed Associate Counselor, as an integrative wellness professional, and as a q***r person myself — I am telling you clearly and without hesitation: this practice has no place in ethical care. There is nothing to convert. There is nothing to fix. LGBTQIA+ identities are 𝘯𝘰𝘵 pathology. They are 𝘯𝘰𝘵 problems. They are people.⁣

Ashley Clifton Therapy & Wellness is, and will always remain, fully q***r and gender affirming. With every new piece of anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation and every ruling like yesterday’s, I will only become louder and more committed to showing up for this community — in my practice, in my voice, and in my advocacy.⁣
