Anxiety and depression are not just “all in your head.” They live in the nervous system, the body, the breath, the fascia, the gut, the spirit, and the energy field. Healing is not one-dimensional, and neither is the way I guide people at The Laughter Patch Integrative Health & Energetic Healing.
When someone comes to me struggling with anxiety, burnout, panic, emotional heaviness, trauma, or depression, I approach them as a whole human being — mind, body, soul, spirit, energy, lifestyle, and physiology all working together.
In a coaching session, we may begin with nervous system regulation through yoga therapy, breathwork, grounding practices, meditation, and restorative movement. We work with the parasympathetic nervous system to gently guide the body out of chronic fight-or-flight and back into a state of safety, rest, digestion, and healing.
Through Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and Shiatsu, we explore where energy may be stagnant within the meridian system. In TCM, emotions are deeply connected to the organs:
• Grief affects the lungs
• Fear affects the kidneys
• Anger affects the liver
• Overthinking affects the spleen
• Shock and trauma affect the heart
Using acupressure, meridian therapy, movement, sound, and energetic techniques, we help the body begin to release what it has been holding.
Reiki and sound journeys are used to calm the mind, regulate the energetic body, and create deep states of relaxation where healing can begin. The body remembers safety through experience. When the body feels safe, the mind can soften.
I also incorporate flower essences, herbs, grounding nutrition practices, Ayurvedic teachings, mindfulness, somatic release, and intuitive coaching to help support emotional balance naturally. Ayurveda teaches us that each person has a unique constitution and imbalance. Some people need grounding and warmth. Others need stimulation, circulation, cooling, nourishment, stillness, or movement. Healing is individualized.
At the same time, I deeply honor Western medicine. Therapy, medication, medical support, lab work, nervous system science, trauma-informed care, and psychiatric care can all be sacred tools in healing. I never believe in shaming someone for needing medical support. Sometimes healing looks like herbs and meditation. Sometimes it looks like medication and therapy. Sometimes it is both.
Movement practices like dance, yoga flow, shaking, stretching, and mindful breathwork help release trapped emotions and stagnant energy from the body. Emotions that stay suppressed for years can manifest physically through tension, fatigue, inflammation, chronic stress, digestive issues, sleep disturbances, and emotional dysregulation. The body wants to move emotions through — not store them forever.
A large part of this work is teaching people how to reconnect to themselves again. How to listen to their body. How to feel safe in their body. How to create inner peace instead of constantly surviving.
Healing is not about becoming someone new.
It is about remembering who you were before the world taught your nervous system to live in fear.
