This summer I am offering a deeply intentional, structured, and nurturing yoga and mindfulness program for children. Each class is designed to support the nervous system, emotional development, physical strength, and inner awareness of every child who attends.

We will be practicing yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, and sound healing, while also creating space for play, creativity, and connection.

WHAT WE WILL PRACTICE

Yoga (Movement & Body Awareness)
Children will be guided through age-appropriate yoga sequences that support strength, coordination, and regulation of the nervous system.

Examples of poses include:
Mountain Pose (Tadasana) – builds grounding, posture, and body awareness
Tree Pose (Vrksasana) – improves balance, focus, and confidence
Cat-Cow (Marjaryasana/Bitilasana) – supports spinal mobility and emotional release
Child’s Pose (Balasana) – encourages rest, safety, and nervous system calming
Downward Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana) – strengthens the body while increasing circulation
Warrior Poses (Virabhadrasana I & II) – builds strength, resilience, and inner confidence
Seated Forward Fold (Paschimottanasana) – promotes introspection and calming

Benefits of Yoga for Children:

Breathwork (Nervous System Regulation)

Children will learn simple, effective breathing techniques they can use in everyday life.

Practices include:
Belly Breathing – hands on the belly to feel expansion and contraction, promoting calm and grounding
Extended Exhale Breathing (inhale 4, exhale 6–8) – activates the parasympathetic nervous system to reduce stress
Balloon Breath – visualizing inflating and deflating a balloon, helping younger children understand breath control
Bee Breath (Bhramari) – gentle humming to calm the mind and reduce anxiety
Alternate Nostril Breathing (adapted for children) – supports balance between left and right brain activity

Regulates emotions and reduces anxiety
Improves focus and attention
Helps children manage big feelings
Supports healthy nervous system function
Creates a sense of safety and control in the body

Mindfulness & Emotional Awareness

Children will be guided through mindfulness practices that help them connect to their thoughts, emotions, and inner experience.

Practices include:
Guided Visualizations – calming stories that encourage imagination and relaxation
Body Scans – bringing awareness to different parts of the body to release tension
Sensory Awareness Exercises – noticing sounds, sensations, and surroundings to anchor in the present moment
Gratitude Practices – developing a positive and grounded mindset
Affirmations – building self-worth and inner confidence

Sound Healing & Play

Children will be introduced to singing bowls and sound instruments, allowing them to feel vibration and explore sound as a tool for relaxation and curiosity.

I am so grateful that life has brought me to meet Kori! 🙂 I am booked for these two days and also a retreat in May with Reva Wellness. More details to come on the retreat. I am pretty sure we are going to open up shiatsu, reiki and sound sessions after all the sound baths for the day. How amazing would it be to get a shiatsu and reiki appointment in the salt room.

There is something truly so sacred about slowing down enough to receive. It’s in this sacred pause we allow our nervous system to rest, to find stillness and bring us back to balance.
I have recently completed my Yoga Nidra training certification through Yogamu and would love to invite you to join me for a deeply restorative Yoga Nidra Sound Bath, where you will be gently guided into a state between the waking and sleep world, a space where the body fully relaxes, the mind softens, and the soul opens. Often called “yogic sleep,” Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice that allows you to access profound rest while remaining aware. At The Laughter Patch, we believe children thrive when they are given tools to understand their bodies, regulate their emotions, and feel safe expressing themselves. This program is designed to nurture confidence, calm, resilience, and joy through movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and play.
Yoga for children is not about perfect poses — it is about learning how to breathe, move, feel, and regulate the nervous system in healthy ways.
Our classes combine yoga, breathwork, emotional awareness, sound healing, and mindfulness practices to help children build lifelong wellness skills.

Ages 8–10
Brave Mind Yoga
Focus on confidence, emotional tools, and deeper mindfulness practices.

Teen Mindfulness Yoga
Developing stress management skills, nervous system regulation, and confidence.

Please send your child with:
• Comfortable clothing for movement
• A water bottle

Today is World Bipolar Day

Around the world, an estimated 40–50 million people live with bipolar disorder. Behind that number are real humans—navigating intensity, resilience, healing, and growth every single day.

Bipolar disorder is not just “mood swings.” It is a complex neurological condition that impacts how the brain regulates mood, energy, sleep, and perception. There are deep lows that can feel heavy and endless, and there are highs—mania or hypomania—where energy rises, thoughts race, and the nervous system becomes overstimulated.

And stability…
Stability is not something that just happens.

It is something you build, protect, and commit to every single day.

Medication can be life-saving—and for many of us, it is a crucial foundation—but medication alone is not the full picture. True stability is holistic. It asks for:

Therapy
Movement (like dancing for mental health)
Yoga
Sound baths
Meditation
Massage
Nervous system regulation and deep self-awareness

It is a full-time job to care for your mental health—and it is worth every ounce of effort.

I want to share something deeply personal…

I have been stable for nearly 7 years, with over 6 years in remission.

That doesn’t mean it’s been easy.

Living with Bipolar alongside Complex PTSD and anxiety can feel like navigating multiple storms at once. Trauma and anxiety can trigger episodes—mania, hypomania, and depression—which is why taking care of yourself first is not optional… it is essential.

This past year especially tested me.

Old trauma resurfaced. I learned painful truths about my past—including a man who attempted to traffic me being arrested—and another individual connected to that continuing to disrupt my peace and spike my anxiety. On top of that, I experienced challenges within a friend group and family that made life intentionally more difficult.

My nervous system was pushed.
My anxiety was high.
I had to adjust my medication again.

And still… here I am.

Seven years later I'm thriving in my mental health continuing my education (almost done with my bachelor's degree) and owning TWO businesses in the same town where I once had my mental health breakdown

My journey has been filled with bumps, bruises, tears, and scars…
but also with joy, laughter, presence, and deep, authentic connection.

I learned who my people are—and who they are not.
And that clarity has been one of the greatest blessings.

Because here’s the truth:

I do not see my bipolar as a disability.
For me, it is an extra ability.

Many people with bipolar disorder carry powerful, beautiful gifts:

💡 Big vision thinking and innovation
⚡ Passion, drive, and energy when channeled with awareness
