In our small towns, neighbors look out for one another. That includes looking out for the health of our fathers, brothers, sons, coworkers, and friends.
Men are still more likely to delay or skip doctor visits, and on average live nearly five years less than women. But much of that gap is preventable with regular care and early action.
Why this matters right here in our community:
◼️ Heart disease is still the leading cause of death in men, but a 10-minute blood pressure check can flag concerns early.
◼️ Prostate, testicular, and colon cancers are treatable when caught in time.
◼️ Mental health concerns are common, especially under stress. Many men suffer in silence, but local help is available.
This Men’s Health Month, we invite you to take three simple steps:
◼️ Check in with yourself. Notice any pain, fatigue, changes in sleep, or mood shifts. These may be worth a conversation with a provider.
◼️ Check in with someone else. Ask your friends, coworkers, or family members how they have been feeling. A small conversation can make a big difference.
◼️ Check in with us. Call or visit to ask about screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, and confidential mental health support.
Tag a man in your life and tell him you’ve got his back.
