As a postpartum mom, I can’t help but FEEL ugly a lot. And it got me thinking about the how and why of feeling ugly. Which by the war, to me ugly is a feeling or a behavior, not a real thing.
You just don’t recognize yourself when you feel stressed, exhausted, or depleted. And the skin does a great job at showing these symptoms. We get dull, puffy, scaly, and even broken out and red.
Instead of beating yourself up, acknowledge that this feeling is fleeting. It doesn’t have to feel permanent.
Yes, you need to get more sleep, decompress, and work on balancing whatever is stressing you out - BUT what will get you feeling like yourself faster is doing something that lights your soul on fire.
Dance, sing, play, create! Talk to your bestie, sister, or loved one that makes you smile from ear to ear! Go out in nature, read a fun book, or explore a new place!
Honoring this part of you brings the beauty back to your reflection. You recognize yourself faster when you feel the most like you. The rest of the habits can get difficult to keep up with so do yourself a favor and tap into your favorite things when you feel blah. I promise it’ll help!
