On the hot topic of vaccines and the CDC: we will continue to promote and provide life saving vaccines at our clinic, regardless of the changes to the CDC vaccine schedule. The CDC has removed the recommendation for ROUTINE use of hepatitis B, hepatitis A, rotavirus and meningococcal vaccines and now recommends them only for "high risk individuals." The CDC feels that these vaccines can be given based off of shared clinical decision making, ie a conversation with your child's physician. This changes nothing at North River Pediatrics. We'll continue to have these conversations and continue to recommend these vaccines. To quote Benjamin Franklin, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Happy Medical Assistant Appreciation Week to Haylee and Jane! I am blessed with the absolute BEST MA’s! They are thoughtful, thorough and bright. Jane and Haylee make North River Pediatrics run smoothly and they keep Misty and I on our toes! You may not know this about them, but they are both headed to medical school in the next yearor two! How cool is that?!? Give these ladies a shout out!

It's Flu vaccine clinic time! Our first flu clinic of 2025 will be Wednesday, October 1st from noon to 3pm. To expedite your visit, call or text us at (541) 677-6116 and let us know you'll be attending so we can pull your child's chart and be ready for your arrival.

Remember parents and care-givers can get their flu vaccine at the same time as their kiddos - just let us know.

Drop-in's are also welcome in case you've been flying by the seat of your pants like the rest of us these last few weeks. We see you and totally understand! Mark your calendar as an easy reminder in case you can squeeze us into your busy schedule.

October 1st is rapidly approaching! This date is important for those wishing to get the RSV vaccine (Beyfortus) for their 0-8 month old babies (and some high risk toddlers up to age 2 years) who are eligible to receive the vaccine. We have doses available! Please let us know if you are interested and we'll start booking those vaccine appointments!

Let’s give a big shout out to our medical assistant, Maddox, who is headed to Arizona to attend nursing school! It’s his last day today at NRP and although we’re sad to see him go, we’re also incredibley proud of him! Happy journey, Maddox! Much love!
