One of our favorite moments of February ❤️

Our DSA crew had the opportunity to support the Roseburg Dream Center through the Rebuilding Second Chances drive! We collected and delivered much-needed hygiene supplies for individuals in Douglas County.

From shopping together to dropping off donations, it was a powerful reminder that community inclusion goes both ways. The individuals we serve aren’t just receiving support…. they’re giving back, showing up, and making a difference right here in Roseburg.

Did you know that Sunrise Enterprises operates a Wood Products Mill right here in Douglas County? 🌲

Our Wood Products plant is a custom re-manufacturing facility specializing in dimensional lumber, pallet stock cutting, sticker processing, and more. Every board that moves through our mill represents more than quality craftsmanship, it represents meaningful employment and skill-building opportunities for individuals in our local IDD community.

At Sunrise, we are committed to creating purposeful work, building confidence, and strengthening independence through hands-on training and real-world experience.

As we look to the future, we’re continually asking how we can grow, improve, and expand opportunities. We are incredibly grateful for our dedicated Wood Products Committee, Darren Paschke of VT Industries, Bill Cagle of Orenco Systems, and Jack Trowbridge of Great Northern Trailer Works, whose engagement, insight, and support help guide us toward those goals.

Thank you, Douglas County, for supporting inclusive employment and the work happening inside our mill every day. Together, we are building more than wood products, we’re building futures. 💛

Love is in the air 💕

Our DSA participants had the sweetest mission this week — delivering handmade Valentines throughout our community! 💌

These moments are what inclusion truly looks like: giving, connecting, and spreading kindness wherever we go. We are so proud of the heart our team brings to Douglas County every single day. ❤️

Thank you to 541radio for capturing this special moment!

Some more helpers dropping off some more Valentines going out to the Residential Homes and Assisted Living Facilities in Douglas County for Share the Love happening this Friday! Thank you all so much for bringing in these Valentines.

At Sunrise, we’re big believers in growth 🌱 Not just for the people we support, but for our teams too.

Training is one of the ways we keep getting better at what we do. It helps us build skills, share ideas, strengthen teamwork, and feel more confident in our work 💛🖤 When our staff have the right tools and knowledge, everyone wins.

We’re excited about growing as Employment First leaders while strengthening our trauma-informed practices 💛🧠 Because supporting people in real, meaningful community employment also means creating safer spaces — with trust, consistency, and intention — for the people we support and for each other 🤝✨

Thank you, Douglas County!❤️

We are incredibly honored to be voted Best Seconhand Store for 5 years in a row!

This recognition belongs to our entire community. It is only possible because you choose to shop, donate, volunteer, and support our mission every single day.

But this award represents so much more than a store.

Sunrise Enterprises is a place of opportunity. A place of belonging. A place for individuals of all abilities are welcomed, valued and empowered since 1969. We have been committed to assisting persons with disabilities and finding meaningful employment and living self fulfilling lives.

Through our retail stores, wood products, janitorial services, and community employment partnerships, we are helping individuals gain independence, build confidence, and achieve their personal goals.

Local businesses have stepped forward and said "Count us in," by providing employment opportunities. Others have partnered with us by utilizing our janitorial services. That is what true community looks like.

We are not just a secondhand store.

We are a mission in motion.

So what are you waiting for? We invite you to engage with us, partner with us, and discover how you can be a part of this life-changing work.

Thank you again Douglas County.

You have touched more lives than you know. 💗

🥒 Pickle Perfection at DSA! 🥒

Our DSA crew had an absolute blast attending a hands-on pickle making class at the 4-H Extension! From learning the process step-by-step to rolling up our sleeves and getting our hands involved, it was fun, engaging, and delicious learning all around.

A huge thank you to Kris, Mandy, Stefani, and Janet for providing such a knowledgeable, welcoming, and interactive training. You made learning feel approachable, exciting, and meaningful—and our participants loved every minute of it!

At DSA, we love getting out into the community and attending trainings like this that build skills, confidence, and real-world experiences. If you have ideas for other fun classes, workshops, or community activities we should get involved in, we’d love to hear them!

Community + learning + hands-on experiences = a pretty great day 💚

Winter plans, sorted. ❄️

We’re excited to share this year’s Winter Ball, happening January 24. It’s an evening of music, dancing, and connection, open to individuals 14+ with I/DD. Big thanks to our community partners for helping make this a fun, welcoming night for everyone.

Sunrise friends — we’re strengthening our Trauma-Informed Care approach as a way to build on the culture of care we already have. 💛🖤

Sunrise has always been about dignity, respect, and showing up for people as people—with strengths, needs, and real lives beyond the moment in front of us. Trauma Informed Care gives us shared tools and language to keep doing that well. It helps us stay consistent in how we communicate, support one another, and respond so services remain steady and people feel supported.

We’re holding interactive training sessions with our management team, and we’re excited to keep building this out with our staff and the individuals we support. You’ll see practical tools and simple team habits that translate into day-to-day work.

This is about strengthening what’s already working—so our teams can keep doing great work, together, with care.

More to come as we roll this out.

Growth doesn’t happen by accident. It takes partners, opportunities, and employees willing to step up and learn.

In 2025, Sunrise staff participated in professional development through conferences, Project Leadership Roseburg, and targeted training that strengthens how we support the people we serve.

We’re grateful to SourceAmerica for investing in staff development aligned with their mission to expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities. With their support, we have five newly certified employment professionals and a credentialed benefits counselor, along with staff who continue to bring new skills and ideas back to their teams.

And yes… the banner letters didn’t quite cooperate. But the learning did.

Thank you to the employees who raise their hands, lean into growth, and keep building a stronger Sunrise.

Strong teams don’t happen by accident.

Throughout the year, Sunrise managers came together for quarterly offsite meetings to step back from the day-to-day, share ideas, work through challenges, and stay aligned around our mission. These conversations help us support our staff better and keep our focus where it belongs, on the people we serve.

We’re grateful for a management team that shows up with thoughtfulness, accountability, and a genuine commitment to doing the work well.
