๐ŸŽ“ Reedsport Student Health Fair

Our Prevention Team had a great time at the Reedsport Jr/Sr High School Student Health Fair.

During the tabling session, students participated in our Free to Be campaign, reflecting on questions like how they handle peer pressure and what keeps them focused on their goals. It was inspiring to hear their thoughtful responses and see the ways they are building resilience and supporting one another.

We also had the opportunity to present โ€œBetting on Your Future: The Truth About Gamblingโ€ and QPR, Question, Persuade, Refer, a su***de prevention training focused on recognizing warning signs and knowing how to step in to help. Students asked meaningful questions and engaged in important conversations about making healthy choices and looking out for one another.

Thank you to the students and staff at Reedsport for welcoming us and being open to these discussions. Your voices and perspectives are what make prevention work powerful.

๐Ÿ† 2026 Community Advocate Award

We are honored to share that our Mobile Crisis team has been selected to receive the 2026 Community Advocate Award at Peace at Home Advocacy Center's annual Empower event.

Each year, advocates nominate individuals or teams who demonstrate exceptional commitment to supporting survivors and strengthening healthy relationships. This year, advocates collectively nominated our entire Mobile Crisis team, recognizing their trauma-informed, person-centered approach and the meaningful impact they have made throughout our community.

We are deeply grateful to Peace at Home for this recognition and incredibly proud of our Mobile Crisis team for the compassion, professionalism, and steady support they bring to people during some of their most vulnerable moments.

March is a time to raise awareness about problem gambling and remind our communities that help is available. Gambling problems can affect anyone, including individuals, family members, and friends, but recovery is possible with the right support.

At Adapt, we offer free, confidential problem gambling treatment services for those impacted.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ On Air | Art of Prevention: Youth Voices in Action

Our Prevention Program Manager, Sidnee Hedrick, and Prevention Outreach Coordinator, Amber Condra, recently joined KQEN Radio to talk about this yearโ€™s Art of Prevention youth art contest.

In the interview, they share why creative expression plays such an important role in prevention, how youth voices can shape conversations around substance misuse, su***de and self-harm, problem gambling, and resilience, and what students need to know before the April 10 submission deadline.

โค๏ธ Heart Health Month | Wearing Red & Pink for Prevention!

February is Heart Health Month, and our teams across Adapt are showing their support by wearing red and pink to raise awareness about cardiovascular health.

Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death, but early detection, prevention, and treatment can make a significant difference. Routine checkups, managing blood pressure and cholesterol, staying active, and having open conversations with your provider are all important steps toward protecting your heart.

We encourage you to talk with your provider at your next appointment about your heart health and any risk factors you may have. Small steps today can support a healthier future.

๐Ÿงญ Leadership Continuity at Adapt

We recently had the opportunity to bring together three generations of Adapt leadership, continuing a long-standing tradition of connection and continuity!

Pictured left to right are Steve Baron, our current CEO; Dr. Greg Brigham, our immediately previous CEO; and Bruce Piper, who served prior to Dr. Brigham.

Maintaining relationships across leadership transitions helps preserve institutional knowledge, strengthen decision-making, and ensure our mission continues to guide the work we do across southwest Oregon.

๐Ÿ“ Why Rural Health Matters

Our team member recently contributed a guest author post to the Oregon Primary Care Association blog, sharing a personal perspective on why rural health is more than a profession, itโ€™s a commitment to equity, dignity, and access for communities that are often overlooked.

In this piece, Samar Farooqui reflects on working in rural Oregon, the mission that drives Adapt Integrated Health Care, and the people whose dedication turns access into action every day.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Itโ€™s been a little while, and we hope your new year is off to a great start. Our Communications Team is back, and weโ€™re excited to share a recent highlight from our Prevention & Education Team.

Our team recently joined South Umpqua High School for their Student Health Fair, connecting with students around substance use prevention, problem gambling awareness, and mental health. Students also shared their voices through our Free to Be youth-led prevention campaign, helping spark meaningful conversations grounded in real experiences.

We were also grateful for the opportunity to lead a QPR su***de prevention session, focused on recognizing when someone may be struggling and how to safely step in to help. Weโ€™re proud of these students for showing up for themselves and for one another.
