Global Surgery Day 05.25.26 - initiated in 2015 to raise awareness of the lack of access to surgical healthcare worldwide. Honored and privileged to have worked with a number of NGO’s, non-profits, and overseas teaching programs since 2015 to spread and increase knowledge, education, and patient care in Oculofacial plastic & reconstructive surgery. This is exactly the type of collaboration our Face 2 Face team generates when working in Ukraine through .for.ukraine Co-Pilot Project, bringing together ENT, facial plastic surgery, ophthalmology, oculofacial surgery, oral surgery, anesthesia, skilled OR nursing — and now also ocularistry, facial anaplastology, and pain management — into a multidisciplinary team to comprehensively care for war wounded soldiers and civilians. Working together over numerous trips has given us (all) an opportunity to learn from each other, grow the skills transfer program, and optimize patient outcomes from the start. Are there complications to handle? Do we often have to make incremental steps over time? Of course to both, this is surgery adjacent to major conflict - and where surgical teams and patients benefit most is when we manage the setbacks and challenges together. Many thanks to , numerous industry partners, and the Ukrainian residents and medical students for their tireless commitment. Partnership is continued Growth 🇺🇸🤝🇺🇦
