𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝟭𝟴 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 - 𝟮 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀):
Some children begin to show a preference for one hand, but it's still normal for them to switch hands.
𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝟮-𝟰 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀):
A more consistent hand preference starts to develop, but it's still common for children to switch hands during activities.
𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝟱-𝟲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀):
Most children have a clear and consistent hand dominance by this age, but it can sometimes take until age 6 or even later for some individuals, according to a 2013 study from Ovia Health.
