Also - comment your fav 🥰(mine's beach)

They all have an element of ⭐️ active flexibility⭐️ in them! (New class that uses this technique in bio⚡️). They're not passive stretches, they use muscles to stretch muscles - one of the safest and most effective ways to be gain flexibility.

6 small things you can do right now to
brighten others' day ➡️ (and brighten yours in the process) 

☀️ smile at people, they smile back

☀️ say good morning/afternoon

☀️ pay a stranger a compliment

☀️ text a friend you love them (some people prefer texts be they get to re-read them)

☀️ be eager to support others in their passions

☀️ offer to take pictures of people taking a selfies with their friends/lover

What kind thing are you doing today?

The last one is my favorite. I see so many people on the beach trying to capture beautiful memories.
I always offer to take their picture and it's a great honor to capture their happiness in that moment. :)

4 Flexibility Tips below ⤵️ (4th one I only learned after teaching yoga) 🧘‍♀️

⭐️ 4 Flexibility Tips ⭐️

1️⃣ Make it dynamic - This is ACTIVE movement (vs. passive)so take pulses in poses, sway side to side, contact and release. This way you stretch through your full range of motion.

2️⃣ Cardio before deep stretches - warning up the body gets blood pumping through your muscles. Go on a run before your yoga session, or incorporate strong yoga postures before melting into deep stretches.

3️⃣ Massage your nervous system
Your nervous system initiates contraction of a muscle to keep you from going further in a stretch. Knowing this and calming the mind helps the nervous system relax and we can melt in. How can we easily do this? One way is by putting our full focus on our inhales and exhales. Meditate in postures and stay for a few minutes. You'll see and feel the difference.

4️⃣ Two-Way lengthening
This is what gives dancers and yogis their grace. It's stretching in two directions at once. These will often come in the form of energetic cues in class.

Example: In a low lunge, your hips sink down and forward, while you're sternum and arms reach up to the sky - two opposing energetic stretches that makes for both a full body, and deep stretch.

Can you think of a posture where you don't have opposing energies?
Except for in yin, I cannot.

Look your challenges in the eye and give em a wink 😉
When I started my then-corporate job many years ago, I worked at a mostly male tech company in San Francisco. It was very obvious that this organization was male led. In order for me to feel heard and respected, I had to quickly learn how to speak concisely, directly, and powerfully. I owned my work and I owned my words.

I learned how to run meetings efficiency and I took no sh*t. There were handfuls of times when I had to teach people - mid-meeting - to not interrupt me. I wasn't mean, I was direct. And they weren't being malicious (mostly), they just weren't yet fully aware.

At times it was a tough environment. I would sometimes be the only woman at a table of 20 people. I was EAGER to sit at that table, command attention, and bring my unique and valuable insight. Long story short - I ended up becoming the director of the marketing team ⚡️ I made sure the team I built out had a beautiful balance of highly intelligent people from all walks of life, genders, and backgrounds.

What I learned was invaluable to my growth as a human, a yoga teacher, a woman, a friend.
It'd be easy to mark an environment like this as toxic but I believe we ourselves have emotional responsibility too.

How we respond in challenging situations shapes us.

If a stressful situation comes up for you this week, handle it in a way that strengthens you.

You always have that choice.
You always have your power.
Always.

So I start with week with a few images that make me feel powerful. One of them from a hard chapter of life (the 3rd one), and one from day 1 of a brand new chapter (the ocean shoot).

Whatever strength you need for your next challenge, you have it in you now. ⚡️

Can't headstand without a strong core - 🌟New Core Burner Yoga Class is LIVE! 20 mins to FIRE UP🔥 your core. Link in bio - this class is free on my YouTube channel!

There is seldom a class let alone a posture where a strong core isn't beneficial. This headstand, isn't possible without core lock ( ), neither are standing balances, arm balances -

Even your warriors and down dogs are ⚡️ super-charged when you have a strong core.

This is not a vinyasa class, it's a core-focused class with a dash of pilates fiery flare.🔥

What do pic 1 & 2 have in common?⤵️

They both require open shoulders! ✨ Last week you voted on today's new class - I'm not surprised, it's relevant too everyone. This class reverses the typing, texting, scrolling, driving, and hunching.

Have you ever felt this way: Both SUPER motivated and eager to learn and grow and progress. . .
AND at the same time -
Really content in the moment. Like, *big long exhale* this is what life is all about. I have arrived.

It's an fascinating to feel both content and striving at the same time.

They feel like they might be opposites, right? That each would pull from the other. But that's actually the balance. That's the magic mix - or 'right energy' as it's called in yoga.

The balance between creating new classes and upcoming workshops for you guess, creating a few mindful products - I can't wait for you to see them - while loving the process.

I didn't always love the process. In fact, 2 months ago I was crawling out of my skin thinking I was 'behind'.

No, I was learning
and troubleshooting
and getting organized
and getting clarity on my products and yoga offerings so I could keep stepping forward Ina smart way.

And here we both are, right in the center of our continuous process.
Are we having fun while we do it?
I hope so! 🙃

It's beautiful all year around but summer hits like a deep lovers kiss, like a cold refreshing drink, like the smell of a fresh peeled orange.

Okay I'm getting too romantic 💋

Do you practice wheel regularly in your practice?

Safe backbends are so good for spinal health and back strength. This class incorporates them throughout!

This is also my first class with 2️⃣ camera angles 🥺 I love to make Iterative improvements to classes/everything I do. When you're passionate about something, you learn and improve!

Look at everything you've overcome. Accomplished.
Gone through.
Healed from.
Grew from.

A Pro-tip is to get a win early (that's why I gym in the morning always) because that MOMENTUM carries throughout the day.

Have you ever heard of eating the frog? 🐸
It's about doing the hardest thing FIRST.
Get it OUT OF THE WAY and OUT of your mind.
AND you'll feel so empowered from eating the frog that everything else will be a breeze.
Because you're a strong, smart, bad🍑 and you know what to do.
You just have to do it.
