Just as the amazing illustrates, though motherhood places a lot of responsibility on one to take care of their child, it also requires the mother herself to take ample time to rest, ensuring they act on their childโs best interest and are most responsive to their needs.
Every day, mothers nationwide give life, yet while the moments leading up to childbirth are often praised and given much attention, the postpartum effects of the matter tend to be less heard of and taken as a trivial matter.
Mothers are some of the strongest humans alive. They endure physical, emotional, and mental burdens while still showing up for their families, for their children. But strength should never be a cause for total independence. Every mother deserves to have proper care, respect and support, no matter the point at which they are in their journey. The weight of carrying a child should never cause the side effects and complications of pregnancy to go unnoticed.
In honor of Maternal Health Awareness Day, GHCYA stands with mothers everywhere to amplify the call for more equitable, compassionate, and accessible maternal care.
To all the moms out there, moms-to-be, and their supprters, keep fighting: YOUR voice can and will make a difference. ๐๐โ
