Maryvale is a nonprofit organization serving the San Gabriel Valley and Greater Los Angeles with trauma-informed care and compassion. We provide high-quality early childhood education and preschool programs, mental health services for teens, and safe, temporary housing for women and children in crisis. With over 169 years of experience, our mission is to strengthen families, promote healing, and empower individuals with hope, dignity, and expert support.

At Maryvale, we meet youth and families where they are by offering care that’s personal, compassionate, and designed to fit their unique needs.

Connections by Maryvale helps teens facing substance use and mental health challenges. Through our insurance-billable Intensive Outpatient Program, family therapy, and peer support, we make it easier for youth to access treatment, whether in person, at school, or through telehealth.

Mental Health & Wraparound Services supports children and families navigating behavioral or emotional challenges through therapy, school-based support, case management, and crisis intervention—available in the community and at Maryvale locations.

Our hearts are with everyone affected by today’s shooting in Minneapolis. When tragedy strikes, whether near or far, it ripples through families, classrooms, and entire communities. The Maryvale community stands united in prayer with all who are grieving.

If you’re feeling shocked, angry, or numb, you are not alone. It’s okay to pause, breathe, and take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Here are a few ways to support children and teens during difficult moments:
• Listen first and let them share what they feel
• Be honest with simple, age-appropriate facts
• Limit constant exposure to the news
• Keep familiar routines whenever possible

We’re filming today with our Connections by Maryvale team and Jeremy Stanford Productions for our Harvest of Hope Gala.

Connections is our outpatient program designed for youth and teens facing substance use and mental health challenges. Too often, young people fall through the cracks - did you know that in Los Angeles, nearly a quarter million teens struggle with substance use, yet only 6% ever receive treatment?

Connections by Maryvale exist to change that. We provide education, counseling, prevention, family support, and access to care helping youth and their families heal and thrive.

We can’t wait to share these powerful stories with you at the gala next month.
