Maryvale is a nonprofit organization serving the San Gabriel Valley and Greater Los Angeles with trauma-informed care and compassion. We provide high-quality early childhood education and preschool programs, mental health services for teens, and safe, temporary housing for women and children in crisis. With over 169 years of experience, our mission is to strengthen families, promote healing, and empower individuals with hope, dignity, and expert support.

At just sixteen, Chanel came to Maryvale carrying more than her belongings she carried the weight of fear, loss, and uncertainty. With the help of her case manager, Edith, and the Connections by Maryvale program, she began to heal. She found safety, counseling, and hope. Step by step, she rebuilt her confidence, pursued her education, and today she’s a proud high school graduate studying to become a phlebotomist.

At this year’s Harvest of Hope Gala, Chanel was recognized for her courageous healing journey a powerful reminder of what compassionate support makes possible.

Connections by Maryvale is our youth mental health and substance use treatment program, providing counseling, case management, crisis support, and evidence-based care for teens in need.

Last week Maryvale had a very special visit.

We had the honor of welcoming Sr. Françoise Petit, Superioress General of the Daughters of Charity, and Sr. Julie Kubasek, Assistant General, to our Rosemead campus.

Their presence was a beautiful reminder of the compassion, humility, and service that have shaped Maryvale since 1856. As they recalled memories, viewed historic photos, and met our team, we were reminded of the legacy we carry forward every single day.

We are deeply grateful for the Daughters of Charity and the mission they entrusted to us of bringing hope, healing, and support to children and families across our community. 💛

Empowerment through education. 💜

At Seton House, our mothers recently participated in a four-week Domestic Violence Awareness Workshop led by Joanna, Maryvale’s Intake and Community Outreach Coordinator, certified through the Womens Center of Long Beach.

Throughout the series, participants explored key topics such as the Cycle of Violence, Power and Control Wheel, Recognizing Red Flags, How Domestic Violence Affects Children, and Codependency gaining tools and knowledge to build safer, stronger futures for themselves and their families.
