Juneteenth in 2025 falls on Thursday, June 19. It is a national holiday in the United States that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, in 1865.

Juneteenth is celebrated to mark the end of slavery and is often marked by community events, festivals, and gatherings. It’s a time to reflect on the history of African American freedom and to celebrate the achievements and resilience of the African American community.

Thomas & Lewin Associates, Inc. celebrates Juneteeth. Our administrative office and day program are closed today to recognize the emancipation of enslaved people.

The Fort Bend Master Gardners paid us a visit to teach us all about birds! Our clients had a great time learning about different types of birds, the different shapes and sizes of their beaks, and what seeds and insects birds eat. We finished the lesson by making our own bird feeders out of coffee cups and saucers!
