At the TXABA Annual Conference, five awards were presented during Saturday night’s awards ceremony, and two Texana employees were among the honorees.

David Whitcher received the Career Contributions to Behavior Analysis in Texas award, recognizing individuals with 20+ years of impactful work in areas such as clinical practice, research, education, and service to the field.

Jeff Dillen was honored with the Distinguished Services to the Texas Association for Behavior Analysis award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant, long-term contributions to the organization’s growth and success.

We had a great turnout for our autism awareness and acceptance panel at Texana Cafe! Justin Moehn, Amelia Maynard, and Kevin San Jose shared their personal experiences with their autism journey with Texana Director Kate Johnson-patagoc as the moderator.

Supporting individuals with unique needs can be challenging, but it takes a special kind of person, one who genuinely loves what they do, to make such a meaningful impact in our community.

As we close out Autism Acceptance Month, we honor and celebrate the resilience, strengths, and capabilities of individuals with autism. You are seen, you are heard, and you matter. At our center, no one is overlooked.

We also want to recognize and celebrate our incredible staff, as well as the clients who are in such caring and capable hands. We encourage you to visit us at the Texana Cafe in Fulshear, Texas on Friday, April 17! Our cafe will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with our panel discussion beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Throughout the month of April, we are celebrating and honoring Autism Acceptance Month by highlighting the importance of understanding, inclusion, and community support.

Our panel will be moderated by Kate Johnson-Patagoc, Director of Specialized Services, and will feature our incredible speakers: Justin Moehn (BlueSprig), Amelia Maynard, and Kevin San Jose, two of whom are proud members of the Texana Center team.

These inspiring panelists will share personal insights about living with autism, discuss challenges they have faced, and explore ways we can all help build a more inclusive community.
