🌟 Meet our September Volunteer Spotlight, Kathy T.! 🌟

Kathy T. is our trusty Happy Hour Bartender amongst many other things. She placed our grocery order for us for years, takes one of our residents to church weekly, volunteers at our Alzheimer's events, and is a wonderful companion to many of our residents. She even got a few of them hooked on certain card games! Kathy first got involved when her dad Don was a resident, but after his passing she stayed active in his honor and because she formed such a connection to many of our folks! Thank you for being you, Kathy!

💚 How long have you been volunteering at TVAL?
"2 1/2 years!"

💚 Why do you volunteer?
"I started out when I moved my Dad to TVAL and really enjoyed meeting and hearing the stories of the other residents when they were independent. It might also be for selfish reasons, because I do enjoy hearing their stories and the interaction you get to have with them!"

💚 One memorable volunteer event/opportunity?
"The petting zoo/farm by Ripon was fun to see all the resident petting the different animals and loving them. The interaction between them was awesome and amazing and we had a lot of giggles over it also. I do also enjoy happy hours together!"

💚 A memorable resident you've interacted with?
"Besides my dad, sweet Little Linda reminded me so much of my great grandma that I couldn't get enough of her, she brought back so many childhood memories for me! I also enjoy taking Cindy to church on Sundays!"

💚 Favorite time of the year?
"Favorite time of the year is the fall, but I am a Christmas freak so Christmas is my favorite holiday!"
