Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) Executive Director Jennifer Mitchell and MCBAP Board Member Kevin Tew visited CARE earlier today to present a special award to one of our own. We are thrilled to announce that Lauren Letzmann has been named MCBAP’s Certified Peer Recovery Mentor of the Year!
This prestigious honor recognizes Lauren’s outstanding contributions and dedication, as she was selected from a pool of exceptional Certified Peer Recovery Mentors (CPRMs) across the state. As CARE’s Project VOX Coordinator, Lauren tirelessly works to reduce the stigma surrounding substance use disorders through continuous outreach and education.
She regularly trains both community members and professionals in key areas, such as Motivational Interviewing, Opioid Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution (OEND), and multiple pathways of recovery. She is also responsible for distributing naloxone throughout the community through her outreach and strategic placement of naloxone boxes in various areas of Macomb County. Her passion, leadership, and commitment to the recovery community are truly inspiring. We are incredibly proud of Lauren and grateful for the impact she makes every day. Congratulations, Lauren—this recognition is well-deserved!
