We believe that strong relationships between caregivers and clients are the foundation of exceptional care.
When caregivers and their clients connect on a personal level, it enhances the quality of care and creates a more positive experience for everyone involved.
The Caregiver's Journey co-founders Sue Ryan & Nancy Treaster share how caregivers and families can build healthier relationships based on trust, respect, and clear communication on this month's ComForConnections podcast episode: https://ow.ly/m5tt50Wr8cM

Caring for aging parents can be a rewarding yet challenging journey, especially when they are hesitant to accept assistance.
It’s not uncommon for older adults to feel a sense of pride or independence that makes them resistant to help, even when it’s needed.
As caregivers, it’s important to approach these conversations with empathy and understanding. Listen as Dr. Barry Jacobs, clinical psychologist and national caregiving expert, provides insight to help ease the transition on the ComForConnections podcast: https://ow.ly/Zwuw50WhEN5

WHEN PARENTS GET OLD ...
Let them grow old with the same love that they let you grow ...
Let them speak and tell repeated stories with the same patience and interest that they heard yours as a child ...
Let them overcome, like so many times when they let you win ...
Let them enjoy their friends just as they let you …
Let them enjoy the talks with their grandchildren, because they see you in them ...
Let them enjoy living among the objects that have accompanied them for a long time, because they suffer when they feel that you tear pieces of this life away ...
Let them be wrong, like so many times you have been wrong and they didn’t embarrass you by correcting you ...
LET THEM LIVE and try to make them happy the last stretch of the path they have left to go; give them your hand, just like they gave you their hand when you started your path!

My grandmother was an active part of my life growing up, so I was close to her. When her health started to decline, I saw the substandard care she received in the hospital. If something like ComForCare had existed, it would have given me and my family much greater peace of mind. I want to provide that peace of mind to all of my clients and their families. I want them to know the care they are getting when they partner with us is compassionate, high-quality and trustworthy.
I am here because I love and respect the aging adults in our communities. They have so much to offer and so much to give. In return, I want to offer options, choices and resources so my clients are able to age in place on their own terms. In everything we do, we believe in the power of staying connected, active and in control. We do this with our front-loaded and high-touch approach, resulting in a truly superior home care experience for our seniors.
While we don’t sugarcoat anything, we are passionate about having fun. We don’t believe in looking at aging as a challenge, but an opportunity to find solutions to help our clients live their best life possible. We know things can be difficult, but our dedication to staying positive, motivated and excited about this experience is what sets us apart from the rest of the pack. When you choose us, you’re choosing a team who is passionate about providing the best care possible.
