You know what I still find myself hoping for? That one day, someone will come into my life and truly see me—the kind of person who doesn’t just notice my smile but understands the pain I carry beneath it.

Someone who doesn’t need me to explain my silence because they already know what it means. I want someone who stays, who lifts me when I’m too tired to stand on my own, who reminds me that I don’t have to carry everything alone.

Someone who chooses to love me, not because I’m perfect, but because they see my broken pieces and want to help me heal, patiently and unconditionally.

No matter how long it has been, there will be days when you will simply feel fragile,
just as there will be days when you will feel a little stronger.

On these fragile days, treat yourself with the care of a small seedling,
just beginning to push up through the earth
to catch the nourishing rays of the morning sun.
Feed yourself with
tenderness, love and understanding.
Water the garden of your soul with affection.

Look for and lean on the support around you.
Just as the gardener may plant a stick
to help the emerging sapling,
we too, need this kind of support
until we are strong enough to stand firmly
on our own once again.

And when we ARE strong enough
and standing firmly....
we can reach out and be a support for others ...like us,
who are also in the healing place,
in this great garden of life.
