It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Sue Johnson on April 23, 2024. Dr. Johnson was a beloved teacher, therapist, author, and the pioneering innovator of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Her remarkable contributions have left an indelible mark on the field of therapy and the lives of countless individuals, couples, and families worldwide. She was also a cherished friend whose warmth and wisdom profoundly touched all who knew her.

I am terribly saddened to learn of the passing of Couple Therapy pioneer, Dr. Sue Johnson, the creator of Emotionally Focused Therapy. I am so grateful to have been able to learn from her directly during an incredible weekend training in 2019. She was unexpectedly funny, dropping numerous f-bombs and naming names when discussing her opinions about other therapeutic approaches! 👀 She was a master of her craft and a great teacher. Her contributions to the field are enormous and enduring. RIP, Dr. Sue

I am so looking forward to reading the new book, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚, based on “…the longest in-depth longitudinal study on human life ever done, and it’s brought us to a simple and profound conclusion: Good relationships lead to health and happiness. The trick is that those relationships must be nurtured.”

The Harvard Study of Adult Development has established a strong correlation between deep relationships and well-being. The question is, how does a person nurture those deep relationships?
