Inspired by experience. I’m Joan Vaughn, and I created Communities of Care in 1999 to meet my own daughter’s medical and nursing needs. I know first-hand what it is like to be the parent of a medically fragile child. I also know the trials and blessings of having nurses in our home helping take care of my child. Initially, I tried to work with a few local agencies, but they did not supply a qualif

ied staff or follow through on their commitments for coverage. I created Communities of Care as a higher quality of home health care, committed to doing things effectively and professionally. Communities of Care uses a family-centered operating principle: we treat each client family as unique, and design their home care team to meet their individual needs.
