Linda Diane Jackson, 67, of Elizabethtown, IL passed away August 18, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 8, 1958, in Gary, IN to Juanita Mathews and Williams E. Underdown. She was a member of Honeycomb Church of God in Herod, IL.
She is survived by her husband, James R. Jackson, Jr. of Elizabethtown, IL; daughter, Lisa (Floyd) Barnes of Elizabethtown, IL; son, David (Sammy) Jackson of Scott Air Force Base, IL; grandchildren, Alexa Barnes, Chloe Jackson and Caitlin Jackson; sisters, Kathy (Donnie) Vaughn of Elizabethtown, IL and Vicky (Kenny) Holloman of Rosiclare, IL; brothers, John Underdown of Marion, IL, Mike Underdown of Calvert City, KY, and Shane Shoupe of Golconda, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. Underdown and Juanita (Bob) Shoupe and sister, Thelma Atkinson.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

David Bruce "Grandpa" Roberts, 84 years young, passed away peacefully in his home after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his son, a daughter, daughter-in-law and 2 grandsons. David was born November 11, 1940 in Shelbyville, IL to Rue and Sarah Roberts,
Survivors include his son, Scott (Cindy) Roberts; daughters, Sarah (John) Graff, Staci (Clyde) Bumgarner and Sheri Roberts; 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Fury and a grandchild, Amanda.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

Edna McConnell, 77, of Rosiclare, IL passed away Thursday August 14, 2025 at her home.

Survivors include her daughters, Sue McConnell of Benton, KY, Lacye Lembcke of Rosiclare, IL, son, Stephen McConnell, grandsons, Chris McConnell of Rosiclare, IL, Jeff McConnell of Kankakee, IL, 7 great grandsons, Johnny, Bennett, Conlen, Freddie, Hunter, Jayden, and Kyi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. McConnell, daughter, Laura Renee McConnell, and life partner, Donald Wynn.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date, Hardin County Funeral Service is handling arrangements.

Survivors include her sons, Jimmy B. Summers of Rosiclare, IL and Johnny Summers of Rosiclare, IL; grandchildren, Ashley and Megan; great grandchildren, Aniyah and Anzley and sister, Bessie and family.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Jack Summers; 2nd husband, Rev. Eschol Smith, Jr.; parents, John and Melissa Davis and brother, Jimmy Davis.
Services are scheduled for 1 PM Saturday July 26, 2025 at the First Apostolic Church in Rosiclare, IL with interment in Fluorine Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11 AM until service time at the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Jaquess; son, Garrett Wade Lovell and parents, Charles Clifford and Mary Frances Long.

Jeanette Marie Stengel, 78, of Rosiclare, IL passed away June 24, 2025 at her home in Rosiclare. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Ann's Altar Society.

Survivors include her husband, Francis Stengel of Rosiclare, IL; children, Garry Stengel of Germany, Allen Stengel of Rosiclare, IL, Dale Stengel of Harrisburg, IL, Rose Stengel of Salem, KY; special daughter, Teresa Lynn Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sisters, Norma Lievers and Nina Ferrell and brother, Robert Hamp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Martha Hamp and brother, David Hamp.

Services are scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday July 2, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elizabethtown, IL with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 9 AM until service time Wednesday at the church.

Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darrin and Christina Davis of Elizabethtown, Il., son-in-law, Jimmy Dean Winders, Grandchildren, Joshua Davis, Jacobey Davis, Kelcie Winders, Dylan Davis, and Noah Winders, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and ClettaLievers, Husband Jim Davis, Daughter, Gina Winders, and sisters, Lou Ann Conkle and Bonnie Joiner.
Services will be held at Hardin County Funeral Service on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 at 11:00am. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fluorine Cemetery in Rosiclare,

James is survived by his daughter, April and her husband Jeff Brown, and grandson Kaden Lindsay of Hoyt, KS. Son, James R. Lindsay Jr. and his fiance Elizabeth and her daughter Dixie of Fort Branch, IN. Sister, Debra Gilliam of Rosiclare and her children, Stephanie Jackson, Jonathan Ross, and Jonathan Tolbert all of Rosiclare, Il. Brother, Larry Partain and his wife Tina of Aledo, IL.Larry's children Lisa and James, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Laura Elizabeth "Cissy" Reed, 90, of Rosiclare, IL passed away May 18, 2025 at Hardin County General Hospital. She was a member of Peters Creek Baptist Church. Cissy worked in the restaurant business, serving Hardin County for numerous years. Everyone knew Cissy's pizza. She also loved her cat Grey Boy as well as gardening and taking care of her roses.
In 1956 Cissy married Bobby G. Reed and to this union was born 2 children, Rita (Garry) Warren of Elizabethtown, IL and Wesley (Sonya) Reed of Johnston City, IL. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Shannon (Brian) Palmer, Brock (Jennifer) Warren, Curtis Reed and Jesse Reed and great grandchildren, Cori (Bryce) Flatt, Cameron Jackson, Finn Palmer, Jett Palmer, Caleb Warren, Logan Warren, Logan Reed and Christopher Reed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Hazel Boyd; great grandson, Wyatt Dalton Reed; brother, Robert Boyd and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday May 25, 2025 at Hardin County Funeral Service in Rosiclare, IL with interment in Peters Creek Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from Noon Sunday until service time at the funeral home.

Ruth McGhee was born on July 29, 1929.She went home to be with Jesus on May 7, 2025 at the Hardin County General Hospital.
She married Thomas H. Griffith on June 10, 1946. To this union six children were born; Michael Griffith, Patty Frakes, Pixie Simmons, Robin Griffith, Cathy Blazosky and Connie Crider.
On April 12, 1968 she married Paul McGhee and to this union one child was added, Joan Dee Butts.
She worked at Hardin County General Hospital for 35 years. Everyone commented that as she worked, she always had a smile.
Survivors include her daughters, Patty (Rick) Frakes of DeSoto, IL, Pixie Simmons (Ed Demers) of Carterville, IL, Cathy Blazosky of Rosiclare, IL, Connie Crider of Rosiclare, IL and Marlena McGhee of Marion, IL; sister, Mary Joiner of Rosiclare, IL; brother, Charlie "Bud" Rainey of Chicago Heights, IL; 16 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher Columbus and Elizabeth Estes Rainey; sister, Betty Colbert; sons, Michael Griffith and Robin Griffith; step daughter, Joan Dee Butts; grandchildren, Amanda Lowry, Dylan Griffith, Jake Blazosky and Virginia Crider.
Services are scheduled for 1 PM Saturday May 10, 2025 at Hardin County Funeral Service in Rosiclare, IL with interment in Fluorine Cemetery. . The family will receive visitors from 11 AM Saturday until service time at the funeral home.
