Marking Dr. Joshua D Hastie’s 13th year of service at HCGH.🎉

Joshua D. Hastie, MD, has been a valued member of the Hardin County General Hospital medical staff since 2013. He earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed both his internship and residency in Family Medicine at Union Hospital Family Medicine Residency in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Dr. Hastie is board-certified in Family Medicine and has pursued additional training in endoscopy and procedural medicine, enhancing his ability to provide comprehensive, hands-on care. He is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Hastie provides emergency medical care at HCGH and Ferrell Hospital, demonstrating his commitment to serving patients across a broad spectrum of care settings.
Dr. Hastie has a deep involvement in the Hardin County community, where he resides with his wife and children.

Spotlighting Dr. Christopher Moore in his first year with HCGH! 🎉

Dr. Moore is Board-Certified in Family and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. He received his medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia in 2015. He then completed a 3-year residency in Family Medicine at East Central Health Network in Meridian, Mississippi in 2018. His training in full spectrum family medicine enables him to manage an array of health-related issues for chronic diseases, urgent care, and minor procedures for patients of all ages. As an Osteopathic Physician, Dr. Moore is passionate about treating the person not just the symptoms. As a result, he focuses on empowering patients to achieve their healthcare goals by collaboratively developing a personalized plan of care.
Since joining HCGH Clinic’s medical staff in late 2025, Dr. Moore has quickly become a valued member of the team. He is recognized for both his clinical expertise and compassionate bedside manner, consistently earning high levels of patient satisfaction. Patients frequently express appreciation for his attentive listening, clear communication, and the supportive environment he fosters.
Dr. Moore resides in Hardin County with his wife, Dr. Samantha Mosby, and their children. Together, they are actively engaged in and committed to strengthening their local community.

We acknowledge all the dedication and support Dr. Sanjay Bose has given HCGH for over 28 years! 🎉
Dr. Bose is a board-certified cardiologist based in Paducah, Kentucky, with affiliations across several regional healthcare facilities, including Baptist Health Paducah, Caldwell Medical Center, Massac Memorial Hospital, Trigg County Hospital, and Hardin County General Hospital. He specializes in interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic imaging, and non-invasive cardiology.
Dr. Bose completed his medical education at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and pursued advanced fellowship training at prestigious institutions, including Yale–New Haven Medical Center and Duke University. He has developed extensive expertise in valvular heart disease, cardiac catheterization, critical care cardiology, and minimally invasive cardiac procedures.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Bose has contributed to the field through publications focusing on percutaneous coronary intervention and coronary revascularization. He has received numerous professional distinctions, including CMS Meaningful Use recognition and fellowship designations from the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Bose began his tenure with Hardin County General Hospital in 1998, providing care in both emergency medicine and outpatient clinical settings. He has remained a dedicated member of the medical staff ever since, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to the health and well-being of the community. We are pleased to have Dr. Bose in his continued role overseeing Cardiopulmonary Services, where his leadership and expertise help ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

HCGH recognizes Dr. Eladio M Chatto, Jr. in his 34th year of compassionate care in Hardin County! 🎉
Dr. Eladio Chatto has over four decades of experience in the medical field. He earned his medical degree in 1978 from the Cebu Institute of Medicine in the Philippines and completed his initial residency training at Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City. Dr. Chatto has held board certification in Internal Medicine and been a member of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Chatto later relocated to Illinois, where he began his work in geriatric medicine in Oak Forest. In 1989, he pursued further training through a residency in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, strengthening his expertise in comprehensive adult care.
In 1992, Dr. Chatto joined Hardin County General Hospital, where he has been a dedicated provider to the community for more than 30 years. In addition to his longstanding service there, he has contributed his expertise as a staff physician for the Illinois Youth Detention Center. Throughout his career, Dr. Chatto has also served on the medical staff of Massac Memorial Hospital, Southern Seven Health Department, and Rosiclare Rehabilitation Center.
After decades of providing compassionate, high-quality care to the Hardin County community, Dr. Chatto has transitioned his clinical focus to emergency and inpatient medicine. This change allows him to maintain his commitment to patient care while also dedicating more time to travel and enjoy life with his wife, Mellie, their two children, and their grandchildren.

HCGH celebrates Dr. Marcos N Sunga, Jr. in his 41st year caring for our community!🎉

Dr. Marcos Sunga is a graduate of the Cebu Institute of Medicine, in the Philippines. Dr. Sunga did his residency at the Chicago Medical School Hospitals and fellowships with the Veterans Hospital in Pulmonary Medicine and University of Illinois in Public Health Leadership. Dr. Sunga has cared for the small rural population in Hardin County since 1985. He opened his first private practice in Hardin County in 1985 and began working at the Hardin County General Hospital soon after. In 1987 he became the Medical Director of HCGH and remains in that position today.

Dr. Sunga has held 8 different Board Certifications in his career including, Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Adolescent Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Pain Management, Forensic Medicine, Illinois Public Health Institute Fellow, and American College of Physicians Fellow. Dr. Sunga sits as the Medical Director for Hardin County General Hospital and the Illinois Youth Center DOC. In recent years he has served as director for the Rosiclare Healthcare Center, Southern Seven Health Department and an Associate Medical Director of Community Health & Emergency Services.

Along with his dedication for caring for the community’s healthcare needs he also serves on several boards in the area, including the Hardin County General Hospital Board of Directors, Southern Seven Health Department Board, Hardin County TB Board, and The American Cancer Society Chairman.

Dr. Sunga also passes his love of medicine on through teaching. He has served as a Clinical Instructor at the Department of Community Medicine and Rural Health University at the North Dakota School of Medicine and is an active instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Dr. Sunga has won honors since 1970 when he was the Valedictorian of his class. As well as graduating Cum Laude with his Bachelors in Biology. He was an outstanding member of the Alpha Sigma Fraternity and awarded excellence in the Study of Anatomy in 1975. More recently Dr. Sunga was named the Most Outstanding Physician in Southern Illinois Quality of service Award in 1990 and was a finalist in, Six Who Care, Tri State Jefferson Award in 1992. Dr. Sunga is three time medical journal published author having co-authored studies on Pulmonary Manifestations of Leukemia & Lymphoma, The Rib Cage and External Interosseous Internal Muscles in the Normal and Emphysematous Male, and a review of Respiratory Diseases.

Dr Sunga is driven by the memory of his late wife Emma, whose unwavering and compassionate support continue to inspire his dedication to patient care. Dr. Sunga has resided in Hardin County since 1985. Dr. Sunga and his wife Emma raised 5 children that are living in various locations in the US. When Dr. Sunga is not caring for his patients, he is traveling to visit his children and grandchildren.
