Sacroiliac joint pain can manifest in different ways depending on the underlying etiology. I have had patients describe the pain as:
dull, achy and sharp abs sometimes pain
shooting down into buttock and the back of the thigh

SI joint pain responds well to manipulation, inflammation reducing physiotherapies such as electrical Stimulation, ice, heat and stabilization exercises.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) is car insurance that covers medical expenses, lost wages, and other costs for you and your passengers after an accident, regardless of who was at fault. It is also known as no-fault insurance because it pays out regardless of who caused the crash, and it's MANDATORY in MASSACHUSETTS but optional in other states. PIP coverage limits and benefits, which can include rehabilitation and essential services, vary by state and policy.
And...... NO your car insurance premiums should not increase if you use Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits, because it is a "no-fault" coverage.
In MASSACHUSETTS PIP coverage is usually $8000 if you don't have health insurance and $2000 if you do have private health insurance. These are benefits YOU pay for so don't give them up!!

The optimal sleeping position depends on individual needs and preferences. If you are having any neck or back pain here are my recommendations:

Side sleeping: With a pillow that is firm enough to support the head and neck and a pillow between the knees to maintain spinal alignment.

Back sleeping: With a pillow that is not too high or low to and a pillow under the knees to support the natural curve of the spine.

I provide gentle chiropractic care for the elderly and patients with cancer. Here we have a 72 yr old,stage 4 breast cancer warrior who lives with aches and pain in her muscles and joints. My treatment is tailored to each individual and their circumstances. This patient has metastasis to some areas of her spine. I provide gentle mobilization, stretching, muscle work and alignment in her case.

Rotator cuff injuries are caused by either traumatic events like falls, motor vehicle accidents, heavy lifting or degenerative changes from repetitive stress, aging, and poor health factors.

The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles that surround and stabilize the shoulder joint. The four muscles are the Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Teres minor and Subscapularis

Symptoms: 

Pain in the shoulder, especially when reaching overhead or behind the back

Weakness in the arm

Limited range of motion

Clicking or popping sounds in the shoulder

Diagnosis:
Physical exam, X-rays, and MRI scan.

Treatment:
Treatment is usually conservative and can include chiropractic and physical therapy care aimed to reduce inflammation, To strengthen the muscles and improve range of motion.
Medications: Anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to relieve pain.
Surgery: May be necessary for complete tears or severe cases.

It's breast cancer awareness month! Here are key things I need you to know about breast cancer.
1. I need you to know your breasts and be vigilant of any changes
2. I need you to know your family history and get genetic testing if you have a family history
3. I need you to know that even if you don't have a family history, you still can get breast cancer! 85% of breast cancers are non familial
4. I need you to know that you are not too young to have breast cancer so don't ignore any changes in your breasts

5. I NEED YOU TO KNOW THAT THERE IS HOPE AND LIFE AFTER A BREAST CANCER DIAGNOSES. EARLY DETECTION IS KEY!

It was a pleasure to be part of this meeting with the Mayor of Boston and the Roslindale Women's Small buisness group. It was my first time meeting the Mayor and she was very welcoming, kind and receptive. Watching her hold a meeting with her baby daughter was so empowering as a woman and mother. I was able to share and bring to light the struggles I have as a health care provider with low insurance reimbursements from health insurance companies including the State's Masshealth insurance in my profession and how it impedes access to care in my fellow Hispanic and other minority communities. Although the topic is not something the mayor's office has much control over she was willing to acknowledge and listen to my concerns and offered some guidance. It is very much appreciated. 🙏
