Let’s talk about cardio and calories.
In the 1st picture you can see how much I burned in 45min of running. I am not a runner by any means. But I enjoy doing it a couple of days a week.
In those 45min I was able to burn 483cal. Not bad.
The second picture is a Medium Spiced Latte from Dunkin’. I forgot how sweet these things are so I ordered “regular”, which means 3 PumpSwrl (whatever that is... I suppose the pumpkin syrup), 3 Cream, 3 Sugar. It has at least 340cal by MyFitnessPal.
Sooooo... almost my entire 45min of running were dumped back into my body in sugar, fats and cholesterol. 😅
Was this the wisest choice? I would say IT’S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. True, it’s not the healthiest, but as long as you plan around it, you can still have it ( No! Not every day my friend 😉. Or you risk depriving yourself of nutrients, minerals and vitamins that other foods offer. Once every 2 weeks, or once a week if you are good with keeping track of your food intake).
If you want to lose weight the only way to do so is by consuming less calories, NOT BY COMPLETELY CUTTING UNHEALTHY FOODS. Actually that will make you just crave them more, and obsess more over food.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am not telling you to eat fast food all day, as long as it fits your macros... that can get out of hand.
I am just saying that obsessing over food can become more unhealthy that actually just having that latte, or muffin, or whatever you want.
HAVE IT. ENJOY IT. BUT keep track of it, enter it in your food journal or log and don’t ignore it, as if it would magically disappear. Make healthier choices for the rest or your meals, stay in a caloric deficit if you want to lose weight, or don’t go too much over your advisable caloric intake if you are at maintenance.
If you have any questions just ask. TRUST ME IT’S NOT THAT COMPLICATED. People can lose weight without feeling bad for every unhealthy food they eat.
