We are incredibly honored to share that Sawdust Occupational Therapy has been awarded the Best of Business Rate 2025. This recognition means so much to us because it reflects the trust, support, and experiences of the families we serve every day.

Introducing the ABLE Hands Initiative 501c(3): Crafting Independence, Building Futures.

We’re proud to present this video from Life on the Spectrum podcast that shines a spotlight on the ABLE Hands Initiative, the nonprofit arm of Sawdust OT, where our mission extends beyond therapy and into real-world vocational empowerment!

At ABLE Hands, we believe in putting the future back in our participants’ hands: teens and adults with special needs are given the opportunity to learn trade and craft skills, explore job pathways, and build community beyond the constraints of insurance!

Because of this program, Sawdust OT isn’t just about occupational therapy anymore. It’s about creating lasting impact:

Participants working side-by-side with subject matter experts and mentors, using tools and materials related to that field and trade.
Life skills, job readiness, and confidence growing through meaningful projects.
A community built around possibility, where independence isn’t a dream, it’s a path.

What began as a small dream in a basement has grown into two thriving Sawdust OT locations, and it’s all because of the incredible families who believed in us.

To every parent and caregiver who trusted us with your son or daughter’s wellbeing, growth, and therapy, thank you. Your support built this community and made this journey possible.

From sawdust covered floors to fully equipped workshops, from our first apprentice to over 250, look how far we’ve come together.

Here’s to the progress, the partnerships, and the future we’re still building side by side.

Our apprentices have been hard at work and their creativity during this Fall season is amazing to see! 

From custom character wood art and Minecraft swords to hand-built Halloween lanterns and one-of-a-kind woodworking projects, their skills and confidence are growing every day.We couldn’t be more proud of the dedication, smiles, and craftsmanship these young creators are showing in the shop and out in the community. 💜🛠️🎃

🚚💪 Ben and James just picked up 8 pallets of Poplar wood for the shops!

For those who may not know, Poplar is one of the most versatile hardwoods out there. It’s lightweight yet strong, easy to work with, and takes paint and stain beautifully. That makes it a favorite for:

-Cabinetry and furniture
-Interior trim and molding
-Crafts and small woodworking projects
-Painted finishes where a smooth, consistent grain is needed

We can’t wait to see the amazing projects our apprentices create with this fresh haul of material! 🌳🔨

💪 Meet Shayon Lee – Our New Fitness Specialist at Sawdust Marietta! 🏋️‍♂️

Shayon brings 3+ years of experience in the fitness world, with a strong focus on bodybuilding, endurance, and strength training. His passion for helping others crush their goals is unmatched—and now, he's bringing that energy to Sawdust!

Whether our apprentices are looking to bulk up, build endurance, or just feel stronger and more confident in their bodies while leading them to a healthier lifestyle, Shayon’s ready to help them get there.
