SNAP rules changed on January 1, 2026.

Adults ages 18–64 who do not have an exception must now complete 80 activity hours of work, volunteer, or qualifying job training programs each month to keep SNAP benefits. Hours from different activities can be combined to total the requirement of 80 activity hours!

Visit HCA.NM.GOV/snapchanges to learn more and see if these new SNAP rules apply to you.
