🌟 November Staff Feature: Meet Krystal 🌟
Krystal’s story starts on a farm in Kentucky, where gratitude and hard work were part of everyday life. As an adult, she set out on her own path — first to Washington, DC, and eventually to Atlanta, where she’s called home since 2011.
Her journey into senior care began in 1998, when her children started school. What started as a job quickly became a calling. Over the years, Krystal has worked in skilled nursing, memory care, home health, and a full CCRC. For the last three years, we’ve been blessed to have her as part of our Family Private Care team.
Her career has introduced her to an incredible mix of people — a U.S. Vice President, the U.N. Secretary, Civil Rights pioneers, Holocaust survivors, centenarians, and countless everyday heroes who aren’t famous but leave a lasting impact. Krystal calls it a “beautiful and emotional journey,” and credits her grandparents for teaching her the power of gratitude. Their motto was simple: “We are doing better than most.”
Krystal says working at FPC feels right.
“It feels good. Our leadership allows us to do good things for people and for each other. We don’t have to feel bad for spending time with our families. We can express our faith and spirituality. It’s a peaceful job with a real family atmosphere. We can pray for each other and ask for prayer.”
Family means everything to her. She’s a proud mom to three amazing children — Amara (33), Kamann (31), and Tayshon (21). And her newest joy? Becoming “Honey,” grandmother to sweet baby Josette, almost 3 months old. Most days, you’ll find Krystal enjoying good food, a cozy movie night, or traveling back to Kentucky to see her mom and sister.
She carries with her a collection of wisdom gathered over the years:
✨ Don’t take life so seriously — have fun and laugh.
✨ Don’t wait to travel or fall in love.
✨ Learn something new.
✨ Be kind, and don’t waste time on mean people.
✨ Gratitude is the best attitude.
✨ You have to spend money to gain money.
✨ Generosity creates a happy heart.
✨ And remember… you’re almost always better than most.
We’re grateful for you, Krystal — your heart, your wisdom, and the peace you bring to our team.
