My Why – Dr. Q’s Story 💗

For me, physical therapy was more than just a career choice it was personal. 💪🏽 I grew up watching my grandmother go through physical therapy after becoming a bilateral below-knee amputee. Seeing her learn how to use her prostheses and regain independence , from moving around her home to being active in her community left a lasting impression on me. 💖

As an athlete my entire life, 🏃🏽‍♀️ I’ve experienced injuries and the challenge of recovery firsthand. That combination of my grandmother’s strength and my own journey as an athlete sparked my fascination with the human body and movement. ⚡️

When I learned that physical therapy was a doctorate-level program, it just clicked. 🎓 I always wanted to be a doctor, someone who could truly make a difference in people’s lives. My love for science led me to earn my Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Psychology, which deepened my understanding of both the body and the mind. 🧠

Now, as a Physical Therapist, I get to live out that purpose every day helping others move better, feel better, and ultimately be better. 🙌🏽 That’s my why. 💕
