Join us on Thursday, May 9th at Georgia State University for the 10th Annual Autism Conference & Expo. This year’s Autism Conference theme is Firm Foundations.

Firm Foundations represents a “back to the basics” consideration of the core systems and workforce undergirding autism services in Georgia. This includes critical foundational support through the GA Department of Public Health and the GA Department of Special Education, which are missioned with programs such as Babies Can’t Wait (Part C) and Special Education (Part B), which are tasked with equitably ensuring Early Identification, Intervention, and Adult Transition. It also includes numerous community partnerships with health care, state social services (e.g., Department of Early Care and Learning), universities, researchers, policymakers, teachers, and interventionists, ensuring these firm foundations result in effective services across the lifespan for families of individuals with autism.

The Autism Conference & Expo of Georgia is an annual event that provides an opportunity for sharing knowledge and resources about support for individuals with autism and their families in Georgia. The Autism Conference & Expo represents the collaboration and contributions of an alliance of leading self-advocates, family members, community partners, state agencies, and other stakeholders. This conference is an important component of the Autism Plan for Georgia.

2024 SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT

With six action packed seasons under our belt, Allie Oops is set to begin season seven beginning January 2024. The primary goal of the Allie Oops league is to afford the Special Needs Community with a location in which to meet Saturdays during the winter months and participate in pick-up basketball games for one hour each date. These dates are designated to off-set the gap between summer and fall League of Stars dates.

Teams are predesignated prior to league play and matched based on age and ability. Coaches are assigned to teams once players are assigned a team and then the fun begins. Though we only play four Saturdays in January, these dates are packed with game play, rotating community “buddies”, music, dancing and loads of encouragement. You do not want to miss out on the FUN!

The 2024 League dates are as follows:

Game #1 Saturday, January 6th, 2024

Game #2 Saturday, January 13th, 2024

Game #3 Saturday, January 20th, 2024

Game #4 Saturday, January 27th, 2024
