Live Oak Derm - Brent Goedjen MD

Live Oak Dermatology was founded by board certified dermatologist Brent Thomas Goedjen, MD. It is located in the vibrant historic downtown Roswell, GA at 135 Norcross St, next door to the public library. The finishing touches are being completed on the brand new office with an opening date of Feb 4, 2019. The mission of the practice is to provide the highest quality dermatologic care to patients in Roswell and the greater Atlanta area. Appointments are currently booking for Feb, 2019. Dr. Goedjen was raised in Muscle Shoals Alabama. He completed his undergraduate training as a member of the Honors College at Auburn University where he majored in Chemical Engineering with a pre-medicine specialization. He was involved with many extracurricular activities including participation as a walk-on with the Men’s varsity tennis team. Dr. Goedjen enjoyed engineering but a desire for more personal interaction and direct impact in peoples live drove him to medicine. He was the first individual in his extended family to enter the field.

He matriculated to medical school at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Here, through his hard work and educational achievements he was honored with election to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He also won the John Watson Donald surgical award for his performance during 3rd year surgical rotation. Dr. Goedjen was very interested in many different specialties during his medical school training. Ultimately, it was the variety and range in the field of Dermatology that Dr. Goedjen found most appealing with elements of surgery, general medicine, pathology, technology (lasers), cosmetics, etc.

Dr. Goedjen served his internship at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida where he also did his residency training. During his final year he served as co-chief resident for his program. The excellent clinical training allowed him to obtain his board certification in dermatology upon graduation. He entered private practice among his respected colleagues for 3 years at Dermatology Affiliates in Atlanta before pursuing his dream to open his own practice.
