We had the BEST Christmas party ever! Pyjamas and painting- I know what you're thinking- BORING- but add a Jessica Simpson bling edition karaoke microphone, and there's nothing better. A great time of community- building was had by all. Who will be the next to join our Vine team?! We're looking for a new provider to help with our waiting list. And I'm believing God for her to be with us next Christmas party!

Tryptophan beyond Thanksgiving.
Tryptophan is actually a protein found in most meats, chocolate and breast milk. What is not digested by you gets digested by your intestinal microbiome. These are the bugs that live with us -usually in symbiosis (peace and harmony)- unless they get disrupted by antibiotics (even 3 days!) or colonoscopy prep or a "stomach bug" or lots of stress or a diet poor in fiber (goal 35g per day). This dysbiosis affects the metabolic function of intestinal lining cells resulting in an overgrowth of oxygen-loving ("bad") bacteria. These guys metabolize tryptophan in ways that can be harmful to us rather than symbiotic. Instead of being made into serotonin or melatonin and triggering a calm immune system, they are rerouted to toxic metabolites (PMID: 33418116) which can wreak havoc with your brain and general inflammation, putting you at increased risk for infections (PMID: 33562472), illness and aging. So before you go blaming that turkey for your post feast coma, check your microbiome (and your portions!).
Start with a diet high in fiber (yes, you keto people) to feed your anaerobic intestinal bugs (like lactobacillus!) add lots of vegetables and lean meats, get some good sleep and a healthy portion of resistance training. See your Vine Provider if you are interested in testing or treating your dysbiosis.
