Here is an adoption story written by a friend describing his son and daughter-in-law's court adoption journey.

Adoption

Thinking about today at the courthouse and the culmination of a long process that started at Camp Dove and came to a crescendo in the Court Room with a kind and gentle Judge.

Some people adopt a new style or a new phrase, or they adopt a lifestyle. But those are a temporary and are usually based on a fad or whim and probably won’t last.

But today, was the culmination of an act of love backed by a very well-defined process and a Judge’s formal decree making Judson’s adoption final and one which cannot be reversed no matter what.

Judson did noting to earn his adoption into the lives of this family. He is loved just because he’s Judson and God’s providence and timing moved in the hearts of my son and his wife to surround him with family and structure and give him their family name.

“He did this by predestining us to adoption as his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will” – Ephesians 1:5 NET

Today was a reflection of God’s unmerited love for us and the gift of faith in Christ adopting us into HIS family through Christ.

What a great witness! Judson, you are as much a part of this family as anyone here. We love you and are committed to you and you will always be loved.

The struggle of all of life is over priorities of loyalty. This is true spiritually. When asked, Jesus said the greatest commandment of all is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul, this is a loyalty statement.....practical truths to follow.
