Did you know that the delicate balance of cortisol, insulin, and thyroid hormones plays a crucial role in your overall health?

These three hormones, when imbalanced, can have detrimental effects on your well-being. But fear not! Integrative medicine practitioners have some valuable suggestions to help you restore harmony within this triad and revitalize your bioenergetic circuit.

Check out these practical tips:
🍎 Eat a healthy diet: Nourish your body with a diet rich in fiber, healthy fats, and proteins. This will stabilize your blood sugar levels, especially when consuming carbohydrates.

💪 Be sure to exercise: Regular physical activity is essential as it encourages your muscles to consume more glucose and makes your cells more sensitive to insulin.

😌 Keep your stress under control: Stress management is key! Explore various methods to reduce and control the stress levels you experience in your daily life.

⏰ Don’t skip meals: Skipping meals, especially breakfast, can lead to increased blood sugar levels and weight gain. So, prioritize regular and balanced meals throughout the day.

💤 Prioritize sleep: A good night's sleep is vital for balancing your bioenergetic circuit. It boosts your energy, reduces cortisol levels, and combats stress. Make quality sleep a priority!

🌞 Try altering when you eat carbs: Cycling your carbohydrate intake can be beneficial. Consume fewer carbs in the morning, moderate amounts during the day, and higher levels in the evening. This cycle helps lower cortisol levels and stimulates insulin production, regulating blood sugar.

💊 Certain supplements can help: Research suggests that supplementing with Omega-3 fatty acids, along with vitamins C and B5, can assist in stabilizing your cortisol curve.

💦 Get enough water: Hydration is key! Make sure you drink enough water throughout the day to support your overall health and well-being.

This little guy was found at the high point of Trail 92, the old Cedar Creek ski area on Saturday, April 29. He seems to have been out there a while; he's pretty thin. He's more comfortable with women than men. Neutered, very sweet. Please contact me if you are missing him.

Ruidoso and the surrounding area: I'm now treating patients in Lincoln Tower, 1096 Mechem Drive. I have deep gratitude to Becky & Scott of Floatation Station for giving me a place to get my foot in the door in Ruidoso. 🙏🏻 At Lincoln Tower, I have two treatment rooms and will be alternating Thursdays and Saturdays beginning in May. I look forward to growing my practice in Ruidoso and to meeting more wonderful people from the area! (My practice remains based in Roswell. I anticipate that the schedule in both locations will adjust seasonally as business in Ruidoso grows....I'm excited to see how things flow!)

I'm a carrier of two copies of the MTHFR gene variation, which is commonly found in those with Hashimoto's (and up to 55 percent of the European population).

🧬 MTHFR (Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase) codes for the MTHFR enzyme, the enzyme that converts the amino acid homocysteine to methionine, a building block for proteins.

🧬 The MTHFR gene variation can contribute to many of our symptoms. Nonetheless, knowledge leads to empowerment. These strategies can help us change the expression of the MTHFR gene!

🧬 Check out my article to learn more about the MTHFR gene variation: https://thyroidpharmacist.com/articles/mthfr-hashimotos-and-nutrients/

Have you done genetic testing? If so, do you have at least one copy of the MTHFR gene variation?
