Every session you show up for matters.
The child who did not make eye contact last week β€” you are planting a seed.
The parent who finally feels less alone β€” you helped build that confidence.
The data sheet that seems tedious β€” it is telling a story that will change this child's program.

RBTs: what you do every single day is not small. It is everything.

At Zems, we are committed to supporting the professionals who support families. If you are looking for a team that values and invests in you, reach out. Link in bio for RBT supervision and training info.

Routine is not just helpful for autistic children. It is often essential.
Here is how to build one that actually works.

Morning Routine:
β€’ Wake up at the same time every day
β€’ Use a visual schedule (pictures or icons) to show the morning sequence
β€’ Include transition warnings β€” "5 more minutes, then we get dressed"
β€’ Keep the order consistent: wake, bathroom, dress, breakfast, depart
After School / Afternoon:
β€’ Create a wind-down period between school and homework or therapy
β€’ Allow preferred activity time as a transition buffer
β€’ Schedule therapy, homework, and play at the same times each day
Evening Routine:
β€’ Start bedtime routine at the same time every night
β€’ Sequence: dinner, bath, quiet activity, brush teeth, bed
β€’ Avoid screens in the 30 minutes before bed
β€’ Use a visual bedtime chart posted at your child's eye level
General Tips:
β€’ Prepare your child for any change to the routine in advance
β€’ Keep a portable routine card for outings
β€’ Celebrate routine consistency β€” it builds independence over time

Save this. Print it. Post it on the fridge.

At ZEMS, routine-building is a core part of the programs we design for every family.

If you suspect your child might have autism, the path forward can feel confusing. Here is a clear roadmap.
β€’ Step 1 β€” Talk to your pediatrician. Share your concerns specifically and ask for a developmental screening (M-CHAT is common for toddlers)
β€’ Step 2 β€” Request a referral for a comprehensive evaluation. This may include a developmental pediatrician, psychologist, speech-language pathologist, or autism specialist
β€’ Step 3 β€” Gather documentation. Schools, daycares, and therapists can provide observations that support the evaluation
β€’ Step 4 β€” The evaluation process. Typically includes standardized assessments, parent interviews, and clinical observation
β€’ Step 5 β€” Receive the report. This will include a diagnosis if applicable, and recommendations for services
β€’ Step 6 β€” Start services. With a diagnosis, you can pursue ABA therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and school supports
β€’ Step 7 β€” Contact ZEMS. We will verify your insurance, guide your intake, and have your child in therapy within 1 to 2 weeks
Save this. Every family navigating this process needs it.

β€œIt’s not clocking to you that we are standing on business.”

At ZEMS, standing on business looks like this:

Every child gets a personalized plan. Not a template. Not a copy-paste program. Theirs.

Every data point is tracked. Every milestone is celebrated.

Families are never left in the dark. Parents are coached, informed, and supported at every stage.

We handle the insurance. We minimize the waitlist. We show up.

That is the business we stand on. Every single day.

If you have been looking for a team that is fully committed to your child’s growth and your family’s peace of mind, this is your sign to reach out.

We are ready for you.

No two children are the same. No two ABA programs should be either.

This is one of the most important things to understand about autism. The spectrum is wide. The experiences are individual. The therapy should be too. At Zems, we build every program around the child in front of us β€” not a checklist or a template. Share this with someone who needs to hear it this Autism Awareness Month.
