We recently observed the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. A rabbi from the local community visited us. He brought along the traditional lulav and etrog, symbols of the holiday. The rabbi then recited the blessings associated with Sukkot with the residents present.

We are so enjoying the handmade fall centerpieces in our lounge. They add so much personality and cheer to our tables. Our very talented and skilled resident, Jean, made them. She got mason jars, fabric, and all the individual items inside to design it. We think she did a fabulous job. It's great when you can find ways for residents to keep doing the things they love, and in her case, it is crafts and design. Thank you, Jean!

It was such a meaningful day to have the local high school bring some of their JROTC Cadets to visit with our veterans. Each cadet paired with a Veteran for lunch, then led a presentation about their future goals and how the JROTC program has grown them. It was inspiring to see the bright future these kids have and the wisdom our vets could share with them.

We had a great time with our tour guide Jim Howe. He taught us about the history of the North Georgia Gold Rush. We had lunch at the famous Smith House Family cooking restaurant. We can't wait for our next adventure.
