Please please please make sure your pets are in a safe and secure place before dark this upcoming weekend! Collars and identification just in case, even writing a phone number on their collar with a sharpie can be the difference between a lost pet and one back at home. So many pets go missing or become injured trying to escape the big scary noises. A calm dark room with music playing to help drown out the booms can help, and remember to comfort your pet! Snuggles and treats can make it better!

Give us a call for an appointment or refills on medications to help our furry loved ones get through the boom boom holiday.

If you’ve been to see us in the last 10 years plus some, you’ve almost certainly met Bo. Bo came to Dr. Burk because he was supposed to be a hunting dog, but he was too big a scaredy cat and too lazy to work, which was just perfect. He became our unofficial mascot, greeting everyone coming in(even when he wasn’t supposed to), hanging out behind the desk, greeting every cat(even the spicy ones) and you could almost always catch him snoring on the back porch behind the front desk. When his day of being a mascot and prolific spreader of hair was over, he went home with Dr. Burk to be the best companion one could ask for, an expert snuggler, stubborn as a mule, and making his family laugh every day.

Through years of family and clinic life, new furry siblings, new grandkids to visit, new employees to train, and so many changes, Bo was a steady and kind friend to everyone he met. As it does though, time goes along, and even the best vet’s dog will get old.

Bo crossed the bridge in the arms of people that loved him, thanking him for his many years of dedicated companionship and love. We sure miss him.

💥New Team Member Alert!💥

Some of you may remember Cissa Dixon from her internships both in high school and during college. She’s now graduated with her degree in Animal Science and we liked her so much we brought her back full time! When she’s not working, Cissa enjoys reading, hiking, video games, and hanging out with her small zoo including dogs, cats, horses, and even a snake and sugar gliders! Please help us give her a warm welcome back to the team!
