Daily Om

Beauty

All we have to do is look for beauty, and she is there all around us at any given moment.
Beauty speaks to us in soft whispers or bold declarations. She calls on us to gaze in awe at her splendor. We are enticed by beauty. We adore her, idolize her, and even court her. Beauty seduces all of our senses. Beauty’s seduction can be as obvious as the striking good looks of a man or woman or as subtle as the charms of a shaggy dog with loving brown eyes. We find beauty in the wonders of nature. Beauty offers us a symphony of colors with every sunrise and sunset and reveals to us her brash power through a storm at sea. Beauty teases us through the shy smile of a child and delights us via the brilliant flashes of fireworks. Beauty sometimes piques all of our senses at once, appealing to our taste buds, as well as our eyes and nose, when she appears in the form of a deliciously baked cake. Beauty calms us with floral scents and excites our aural lust through the passionate sounds made by an orchestra.
Beauty can be cruel, and our pursuit of her can be in vain. We may go to the opera in anticipation of finding beauty there, and she may bore and disappoint us. Instead, beauty lavishes her attention on another suitor who may be more appreciative of her charms. Or, we may try to capture beauty’s essence in a photograph, painting, or sculpture, and still she is nowhere to be found. Beauty will forever inspire works of art, and she will always pose for her portrait, selecting the artist who is most worthy of her catching her likeness.
Depending on our personal tastes, beauty can be found in every color, flavor, scent, and texture. She lives among the poor, as well as the rich, and appears in the faces of the young and the old. She is at home in the city, as well as the country, decorating skylines as well as landscapes. She is the ultimate shape shifter. Beauty is a weather beaten barn beloved by one person and an awesome testament of naval craftsmanship revered by another. Beauty knows no bounds, and we can find her everywhere. All we have to do is look for beauty, and she is there.

"We are not here on Earth to be alone, but to be a part of a living community, a web of life in which all is sacred. Like the cells of our body, all of life is in constant communication, as science is just beginning to understand. No bird sings in isolation, no bud breaks open alone. And the most central note that is present in life is its sacred nature, something we need to each rediscover and honor anew.

We need to learn once again how to walk and breathe in a sacred universe, to feel this heartbeat of life.

Hearing its presence speak to us, we feel this great bond of life that supports and nourishes us all.

Today's world may still at times make us feel lonely, but we can then remember what every animal, every insect, every plant knows and only we have forgotten: the living sacred whole."

The unspoken poverty in our culture is a poverty of spirit, a real hunger for what the West has forgotten: that not just individual life but all of creation is sacred.

🎼🎹🎺🎸May you give and receive Good Vibrations today! 🪅🪬🎻🥁🪘

HOW THE LAW OF VIBRATION WORKS:

•Everything in the Universe has an electromagnetic field and an electromagnetic frequency. Including thoughts and feelings.

• Everything you feel, whether good or bad, determines the frequency you vibrate, and you attract people, events and circumstances that vibrate at the same frequency.

• If you change your vibration frequency on a given day by changing the way you feel, everything around you will transform, because you will be vibrating at a new frequency.

• You can change something bad that happened in your life. It's never too late because you can change the way you feel about it.

• Many people leave their feelings on autopilot. Their feelings are the reaction to what happens to them. However, they don't realize that their feelings are the cause of what happens to them.

• To change something, whether it's related to your health, your money, your relationships, or any other aspect of life, you have to change the way you feel about it.

• Blaming, criticizing, fault-finding, and complaining are all forms of negativity, and all of these bring only conflict into your life.

• Remove words like terrible, horrible, unpleasant, hideous from your vocabulary. Use more words like fantastic, wonderful, fabulous, brilliant and splendid.

• Every day is an opportunity for a new life. Every day you are facing a turning point in your life. And with just one day you can change the future by changing the way you feel.

There's a lot beyond our field of vision!!! A lot happens without us being aware of it. We know very little about things and we think we are very wise. A wise man knows his power but recognizes the immensity of the Universe!

AN INVITATION TO LOOSEN YOUR TONGUE

You left yourself at the outskirts of life over and over again allowing those you perceived stronger than you to abuse you with words and actions, stabbing your soul with their own agendas. You hid the best of who you are fearing to be ridiculed or rejected. You made yourself small and invisible to survive. That was your childhood. And your young womanhood when men came and took from you the nectar of your feminine essence, just to leave you at the edge of despair, depression and feeling unworthy. This is over now! You are free to be…

Loosen your tongue and speak up for truth! For those you are still trapped in the fangs of oppression and abuse. Be their advocate. Share your story or strength and resilience so shame no longer lives in your veins. No need to share the details, just what you’ve learned in your own healing journey. Teach what life taught you.

You are no longer an outcast-the black sheep. If you feel that you are odd or different in some way, use that in your favor. Look at your life from a different vantage point and make your way back to the land of the living. Give up questioning yourself, trying to figure out mistakes and missteps. Let doubt wash off and believe that there is more to you than to feel that you don’t belong. Often, feeling as a recluse is a defense mechanism. There is a part of us that still feels that has the right to be protective. This is over now! You are free to be…

Loosen your tongue and speak up for belonging! Claw your way out of the cave if you need to and guide others to come out of their own cavern without fear of being seen or heard. Show them the way to a place where they feel safe and valued. Be their voice and eyes until they begin to trust themselves and believe that they are not alone and find their own place of belonging.

It is not wrong to feel like a loner. Many do. Many artistic personalities create in silence and loneliness. This is the path of the creative. The hope believer. The empath. The one who lives at the edge of the mainstream. They are the poets and the weavers of words. The Soul Makers. The dancer and the notes singer. The brush holder and the one that feels too deeply. You are celebrated! You are venerated. Keep on doing what you do. No need to prove the world that your value comes from making money with your art. This is over now! You are free to be…

Loosen your tongue and continue to create. Let your art flow from you. Don’t hide it. Post it on empty walls. Fill blank pages with the ink of your story. Write in poetry and prose. Let your magic be seen. The world needs what you have. For what you have is not only yours. It is for your own fulfillment as much as it is to beautify or challenge the world through new perspectives.

If you are wired to help others to your own detriment, know that you are indeed the Nurturer. The Giver. The Advocate. A true Rebel at heart. The solution finder. You never tire to see possibilities. You give of yourself and try to make others happy. But there is wound there. A wound that still bleeds. A cry for love. A cry for recognition and true love. Know that on the other side of giving there is your big heart and generous soul that learned to survive by making others feel safe. I feel for you. I feel with us as I am one of you. The journey to self-love is arduous. But it is over now! Knowledge frees you from believing that your worth come from giving. You are free to be…

Loosen your tongue and be the Rebel that you are. Show the world what you are made of. Show yourself how adamant you are to look after your own needs. You are not here to beg to be seen in all your courage and convictions. You don’t need anyone’s approval or even love. You are made of love. Sacred love imbued in you from the beginning of time when starts and planets were still finding their own place in the universe. You are not your parents, your teachers or anyone that ever tried to make you feel unsafe. You choose to give and forgive because it feels good inside. You are free to be…

Rest now in the presence of your Higher Self. For there, there are no limitations. No prescribed roles. No dogma or antiquated beliefs. Refresh yourself in the breath of your own truth. Give yourself permission to step into a bigger picture of what wants to be birthed from your creative womb.

Before you loosen your tongue take notice of the landscape. Gather support. Be in the company of lovers, visionaries and soul makers. You are not the wounded, the loner, the weird and the outcast. And if you ever were, now you can “reframe” any role, label or persona you were forced to inhabit.

For there is liberation in reframing and reflecting on your story with new eyes, from a new vantage point in alignment with what you want to create and offer the world.

Yes, you are invited to loosen your tongue and embody your truth…

You are a Healer, Soul Maker, Rules Breaker, Brush Holder, Words Weaver…

Share who you are. Be generous with your gifts. Offer your talents to the world…

And yes, you can start your own lineage...............................................

Chirpings from Raven’s Nest

Vision Articles Happenings Contact Us

Vision: Raven’s Nest is the accumulation of years of study and practice in mentoring women in life enhancing techniques using various modalities. Patti Two Ravens has over 30 years’ experience in mentoring women and men in discovery of self through various healing modalities.

The vision of Raven’s Nest is to provide a safe and non-judgmental healing space for those seeking to heal and gather with likeminded people.

Article 05: The Talking Stick
The story of the talking stick originated from five Native American tribes: the Mohawk, Seneca, Cayuga, Oneida, and the Onondaga. These tribes all live in what is now upper New York state. But, in those days, these tribes were all fighting each other, having terrible wars. People were dying and suffering from starvation. A great man named Deganawidah, with Hiawatha, finally helped them learn to make a peace agreement among the five tribes. He became known as the Great Peacemaker. (A further history of Deganawidah and Hiawatha will be written in a future article.)

The peace agreement took a very long time, years! After much talking and listening to each other, they formed the Iroquois Confederacy. It was such an important agreement that it inspired other agreements such as the United States Constitution and the United Nations Charter.

The Peacemaker believed that it was very important for each person wishing to speak to be carefully listened to because everyone’s ideas were valuable. When they listened carefully from their hearts, and spoke truthfully from their hearts, the people were able to make peace. Today we call that special listening active listening.

One tradition was to pass something important around the circle to show who was speaking from his or her heart. Some Native Americans began to use a talking stick. They passed the talking stick around the circle when they had a council.

A council was, and still is, a time, like a special meeting, to share thoughts and feelings about an important subject. The listening with respect and caring for everyone is the important part of using the talking stick to help solve problems. The Peacemaker knew the power of listening with respect and he brought us to this way to solve problems without fighting.

Why Use the Talking Stick?

Everyone has an opportunity to speak.
The process encourages everyone to listen more carefully.
When everyone has a turn, it reduces competition for time and attention.
It builds trust and safety in community.
Respect for the ideas and contributions of others is the process.
Many Blessings to you, Patti Two Ravens

Article 06: Raven’s Nest 13 Clan Mother Lodge

We have created a new 13 Clan Mother Lodge for women. This Women’s Medicine Lodge is created with a circle of 13 women dedicated to attend and participate in the teachings once a month during the 13-month cycle. Each monthly session focuses on the Lunar Clan Mother assigned to that month, representing the 13 moons of a lunar year. Based on Jamie Sams, The 13 Original Clan Mothers, we explore ancient indigenous teachings taught by the Kiowa grandmothers and their correlation to the Seneca 13 Cycles of Truth. Indigenous peoples across the globe have their own, similar teachings relating to Clan Mothers, Goddesses, First Elders, etc. and so the teachings, themselves, are global Sacred Truths as presented in this particular manner.

Each woman has been chosen to learn and represent a clan mother and present her to the group from her own perspective while also giving the others an experiential taste of her clan mother’s attributes. A transformative experience for all.

The current Clan Mother Lodge is closed to new registrants, but, if you are interested in participating in a new lodge, contact me. We will need another 13 dedicated to begin.

I will be posting on our Facebook Group at different times during the year, snips from each clan mother’s readings.

Contact me if you wish to become a part of the Facebook Group. The page “Patti Two Ravens” will have to be liked in order for me to add you to the group.

“Last year, I had a life-changing experience at 90 years old. I went to space, after decades of playing an iconic science-fiction character who was exploring the universe. I thought I would experience a deep connection with the immensity around us, a deep call for endless exploration.

"I was absolutely wrong. The strongest feeling, that dominated everything else by far, was the deepest grief that I had ever experienced.

"I understood, in the clearest possible way, that we were living on a tiny oasis of life, surrounded by an immensity of death. I didn’t see infinite possibilities of worlds to explore, of adventures to have, or living creatures to connect with. I saw the deepest darkness I could have ever imagined, contrasting so starkly with the welcoming warmth of our nurturing home planet.

"This was an immensely powerful awakening for me. It filled me with sadness. I realized that we had spent decades, if not centuries, being obsessed with looking away, with looking outside. I did my share in popularizing the idea that space was the final frontier. But I had to get to space to understand that Earth is and will stay our only home. And that we have been ravaging it, relentlessly, making it uninhabitable."

-- William Shatner, actor

The point here is not about how or why he went to the edge of space, if he’s wealthy or his life story but how we all ignore the great loss of species and habitats, how we consume and destroy this beautiful earth and resources in our endless rampaging desire to fulfil sone crazy idea that we find happiness in things.

If we look deeply and closely at our own true nature, we are both the deep emptiness and the vivid alive appearance of this incredible life.
We are nature, we are from this earth.

To really see this is to feel deep grief for what is being lost, which is 70% of all wild animals in the last 30 years alone, never mind what we have lost for ever through our greed and ignorance.

If you read about the slaughter of the great herds of buffalo, of the genocide of the great Whales, of the dolphin massacres in the Faroes or the extinction of Wolves and bear in Scotland, how would we not feel immense grief?

If we truly faced it then we would dedicate our lives to saving the wild animals, birds, ocean beings, the oceans, mountains, rivers and great forests that we destroy at our own peril.

We won’t find salvation on other planets, the very miracle is right here, right now!

It is up to us.

If you care and understand then find out more.

If you miss the point then move on, there’s plenty of celebrity news to focus on 🙂

Legend of the No-Face Doll

A long time ago, the Creator, He gave us what we call the Three Sisters, and it's the beans, corn, and squash. They were our sustainers of life.

The Corn Spirit was so thrilled at being one of the sustainers of life, she asked the Creator if there was something more she could do for her people. So he told her about a doll that could be formed from her husk. A beautiful doll was made, and she was given a very beautiful face. Now the Iroquois believes that everything has a spirit, and this doll traveled from village to village. When the doll traveled from village to village, everybody told her how beautiful she was. It wasn't long before she became conceited. This means that she thought she was better than everyone there.

One day she heard a voice call her, and it was the Great Creator. And on the way to the Creator's lodge, she passed a pool of water and looked down at herself in the water at her reflection, and she admired herself. She thought, "I really am beautiful."

So when she met the Creator, the Creator told her, he said, "You have to stop being conceited; you have to stop thinking you are better than everyone else, or I will give you a terrible punishment."

What it was, he would not say. And the doll became very frightened.

And so the doll returned to the village again, and once more she traveled from village to village. Everybody started reminding her again how beautiful she was so it wasn't long before she forgot the Creator's warning. Again the Creator called to her. And so on the way to meet the Creator she passed the pool of water again, and she looked down and admired herself. She finally met the Creator and the Creator said, "You did not listen to my first warning; now I have to take your face. You can never have a face again."

The doll pleaded with the Creator, but he would not listen. So the doll, on the way back to town, knew where a pool of water was, and she looked down at the reflection and she didn't see it. She was very sad.

This is an Iroquois legend on the No-Face Doll, and it's a lesson story that we learned we should never think we are better than anyone else or a punishment this great could be given to us by the Creator. This is one of many Iroquois legends.

“For all those little gifts you gave to
the mythologists and archaeologists
to give to me
I thank you, Mother.

For that precious big-bellied figurine pressed
by Paleolithic hands and the magical naked
outline of you on the walls of caves
I thank you.

I thought I was a Motherless child
in an always Motherless house
and then your little surprises began to come
as did my tears, my grateful tears
for there was your soft and ancient voice:

“I am here. I am female. I am divine.”

Thank you for the word “mother”
spoken centuries before the word “father”
for blood and baby do not lie
but testify that Mother was the First Thing

the power that carried and birthed the universe
and all in it, the sea, the earth, the animals
the upright ones, the men and women who lived
in peace within Her safe cycle and gathered
food to the easy sound of wind and rain:

“I am here. I am female. I am divine.”

I thank you, Mother, for brooding over your people
when the dark times came, when the invaders came
the Indo-Europeans from the north
and the Semites from the desert, turning the birthing
upside down so Athena was born of the forehead
of Zeus and Eve was born of the rib of Adam.

Their gods were male
and their swords were bronze
and they named you Abomination
and butchered and buried you without knowing
they were planting you, for you are the transformer
who turns a seed into a tree, the Tree of Life
who is sturdy and many and grew in all places
the goddess of many names that I read now
on pages made from the tree that speak for the tree:

“I am here. I am female. I am divine.”

Athena--Ceres--Cerridwen-Demeter-Diana-Hathor-Inanna-Isis-Kali-Maat-Venus-
hundreds more-shining black or ivory or red and each a name that points to Mother.

The past does what the past is and it is gone.
Men are still warriors, but not all, for many understand that our very being turns now on our turning to our Mother, who is ready to correct our view of heaven so that
God Herself and God Himself, who were always One can join on earth to bless the confused billions.

The next step is ours, daughters of our Mother
and did we ever think She would not uphold us
in our essential mission?

We thank you, Mother, as now we rise the women with microphones in the halls of government the halls of justice, of media, of religion

the women penning books and scribbling poems the women helping women buy a goat or a sewing machine

the women marching with signs and songs.
