Passion can be described as having strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something, or about doing something. I want to share with you why I am passionate about children's mental health.

Over 24 years ago, I read a heartbreaking story about a sixth-grade girl who ended her life in the schools bathroom, alone. She was the same age as my granddaughter. I wanted to know why! What kind of pain was she carrying? Why didn't anyone notice? That moment shaped my mission and I began my work as a therapist.

Middle school can be tough. Its not a transition to tackle alone. Students face so much change...so many emotions...and too often they feel alone. That's why I created Sister B.E.E.S.-a safe, supportive mentoring program to help girls build confidence, resilience and a healthy sense of self before life storms hit. Girls shouln't have to suffer in silence! Prevention is powerful and possible.
