Supplements are not regulated in the US. You get what you pay for: only buy from companies who voluntarily submit to pharmaceutical standards, who produce excipient-free supplements (free of solvents/ lubricants/tableting agents), and who pay an outside laboratory to assay each batch and verify that what's on the label is actually in each capsule, in absorbable form.
Not only is it a waste of money to false economize, but you expose your body to all sorts of solvents (even formaldehyde!) and could be ingesting things to which you are sensitive.
A good quality, pharmacuetical grade suplement will make measurable, trackable changes in your blood work, and in the way you feel each day.
