We’re currently seeking a compassionate, reliable team member to work 1:1 with a veteran in Mansfield, TX. This role is part of our growing mission to support individuals through home and community support.

🧭 Location: Mansfield, Texas
🧍‍♂️ Client: Military Veteran
⏰ Schedule: 12 hours per week/50 hours per month
💼 Role: Direct Support
💙 Experience: Ideal for those with backgrounds in human services, recreation, or veteran support (but not required—we provide training!)

💚 From Simple Steps LLC

We are heartbroken by the devastating floods that struck Central Texas over the July 4th weekend. The damage in Kerrville, Hunt, and surrounding areas has left families grieving and communities in shock.

At Simple Steps LLC, we may be a small and virtual team, but our hearts are with those experiencing loss and hardship. We’re holding space for every person affected and honoring the resilience of the Hill Country communities.

Looking for some easy, budget friendly ideas for groups?

🎨 Indoor Vibes (Creative & Chill)
1. Mood Paint Journals
Grab some paper and let them paint out their thoughts or moods — no fancy tools needed. Prompt them with stuff like “Paint what your week feels like” or “If your future had a color, what would it be?”
2. Pass-the-Doodle
Start a drawing, then pass it around for each person to add to. It gets silly fast and makes for some solid laughs. Bonus: It builds connection without feeling too “group therapy-ish.”
3. Vision Boards Without the Glue Mess
Use scrap paper or paint to create dream boards — they can paint or write about goals, things they’re proud of, or what makes them feel strong.
4. Emotion Color Wheel
No words, just paint colors that match their mood. Afterwards, if they’re up for it, share what the colors meant. It’s low-pressure but super telling.
5. Chair Movement or Music Time
No gym? No problem. Pop on a guided YouTube chair yoga video (if tech is allowed) or play some calming beats. Let them vote on music for a 5-minute movement break — keeps things light and lets them feel in control.
