Ruby is missing!!!
Patients and friends, we are heartbroken to tell you this news. Last Friday afternoon we put Ruby in her outdoor enclosure at 4 pm. At 6:30, I went to bring her in for the night and she was nowhere to be found. It is a fact that she cannot escape the enclosure. I spent hours over the weekend searching the grounds and she is nowhere to be found.
There is very little chance that another animal could or would remove her from the enclosure as they have no natural predators here in Texas and things like coyotes don’t come out in the daylight.
The sad truth is that some person has probably taken her. So, we waited for a while to see if there may be a change of heart or she may miraculously reappear but after so many days our hopes are fading. Please pray for her safe return and keep your eyes and ears open for new tortoises in the neighborhood.
