“I saw a need here since most people had to go to Dallas to get quality care,” says Dr. Yau, who is board-certified in vascular and endovascular surgery, general surgery, and internal medicine. “We have a unique ability to take care of patients from a surgical and clinical standpoint right in their own community.”

Dr. Yau founded the practice with three values in mind: He wanted to enjoy his work, run a sustainable practice, and remain resilient regardless of changes in the healthcare industry. “Our purpose isn’t to be the biggest practice. Keeping true to his founding values, Dr. Yau has carefully chosen a select and compassionate team that cares for patients with honesty and courtesy. “We have a wonderful staff that we’ve taken time to recruit,” he says. “They’ve been with me from the beginning. We all truly enjoy coming to work every day.”

Vanguard Vascular & Vein provides an array of services and treatment options in a state-of-the-art facility that is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). The practice is one of only two AAAASF-accredited facilities for vascular care in the Dallas area. Vanguard’s Vein Center, which specializes in varicose vein treatments, is the only IAC-accredited Vein Center in Dallas and one of only seven Centers of Excellence in Texas.
